WEATHER REPORT
Good morning everybody, big changes on our first day of Autumn, so let’s let ‘er rip!!!!!

–We a short-lived warm front that is through the area with a very strong cold front moving into central NY as I type
–These morning warm-frontal thunderstorms that developed dropped dime-sized hail in the southern Berkshires earlier
–They are now pushing into the central and southern Pioneer Valley of MA and north-central CT
–We can’t rule out strong gusty winds or small hail with these at the 7am hour, but I am doubtful of it based on what I’m seeing
–Pack the umbrellas and rain jackets, as waves of showers, downpours and thunderstorms will sweep our region through this morning and into the early afternoon and should clear out of here by 1-3pm, more like 3-5pm in central MA and northeast CT
–Rain totals look to be healthy, a widespread half inch to 1.5″ of rain, maybe some 2″ amounts, which is needed
–The cold front moves through by early afternoon, and lighter southerlies will gust out of the west 20-30mph
–Dewpoints in the 60s (humid) will plummet into the 40s tonight (super dry), and then the 30s for Friday
–Winds will continue out of the northwest tonight as our upper level trough and surface cold front sweep eastward and pick up Hurricane Fiona and hurl it into eastern Nova Scotia after midnight into Saturday morning
–After the Autumnal Equinox passes through at 9:03pm tonight, lows in the WMass region will be in the upper 30s to mid 40s as wind gusts continue up to 20-30mph
–For Friday, a blustery, chilly, first day of Autumn arrives, and while it will be partly sunny, highs will only reach the low to mid 50s with northwest winds gusting 25-40mph
–This will produce wind chills into the 40s, so bundle up tomorrow!
–Wind continues Friday night, which prevents widespread frost from occurring but patchy frost is still possible with lows in the mid to upper 30s
–Saturday continues blustery as wind as high pressure moving to low pressure, and Fiona will be literally vacuuming our region, pulling wind through it and into its core as it slams into Atlantic Canada causing serious problems there
–This weekend will be mostly sunny, so we have that to look forward to
–However, gusts of 20-30mph are expected on Saturday with highs in the low to mid 60s and lows in the 40s, with highs in the 65-70º on Sunday and lows near 50º
–Early next week is a bit murky, but looks showery at times with highs in the 60s Monday and Tuesday and then cooler again by mid week
–Fall has arrived! Have a great day!

AND REMEMBER…
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
