Good morning everybody, we’ve got quite the frosty start this morning but we’ll thaw that right out and we’ll have a lovely day with sunshine followed by many fair weather days through Thursday morning when a strong cold front could rattle a few cages and soak the ground, but before we dive into all of the weather details below, let’s check a note from our local weekend sponsor, #YankeeMattressFactory, with their main headquarters in Agawam, MA along with stores located around the valley.

A NOTE FROM OUR WEEKEND SPONSOR:
DHTWN is sponsored by members, patrons, and Yankee Mattress Factory. Yankee Mattress is employee-owned, and mattresses are handmade locally in Agawam, MA. Several years ago I purchased a Yankee mattress and was very pleased with their quality and the buying experience, which was friendly and low pressure. Starting on September 1st and running through October 31st, Yankee Mattress will be partnering with the American Cancer Society to raise money to support breast cancer research and local services. A portion of each mattress sale will go towards their goal of donating $10,000 towards this cause. Visit the Yankee Mattress store closest to you in Agawam, Springfield, Northampton, or Greenfield, or click for more info.

***DHTWN DAILY WEATHER REPORT***
——————————————-
Good morning everybody, if this morning isn’t a reminder of the season we’re heading into, I don’t know what is. It’s downright cold out there! Let me know if you frosted last night, as temps got down to the upper 20s to mid 30s for many of us overnight.
Temps will rebound quickly today, and highs will climb to either side of 60º under abundant sunshine with westerly gusts up to 20mph or so at times later on.
For tonight, there will be a lil’ wave that scoots well north of us into Monday, but that will spread some clouds into our region, and not much else.
This will help ensure we don’t frost again, and should keep lows in the upper 30s to low 40s, with a few mid 30s in SVT and SWNH. If clouds thicken more than expected, we’ll hang more in the low to mid 40s.
For Monday, we can expect more of a partly sunny day as that wave moves north of us, with highs in the upper 50s to low/mid 60s, and lows near 40º under clearing skies.
Tuesday and Wednesday look lovely with plenty of sunshine thanks to incoming high pressure. Highs should top out in the low to mid 60s Tuesday with lows in the low 40s, and then we should rise into the mid to upper 60s by Wednesday which is the pick of the week, if you ask me!
Lows Wednesday night will settle down to near 50º, and then we’ll turn our attention to the Thursday/Friday period when changeable weather continues to be expected.
We can at least expect three things on Thursday: clouds will be increasing, temps will remain mild with southerly flows producing highs in the mid to upper 60s, and a line of showers with some downpours will be sweeping east towards the greater WMass region.
We can also expect southerly wind gusts ahead of the cold front to pick up and gust over at least 20mph at times as the front approaches, and humidity will pick up a bit, too.
The wind component WITH the front is more uncertain at the moment, but there could be some stronger gusts associated with and just behind the front itself, as this feature should be trucking east.
Showers will fall heavily at times Thursday night as the front passes through, and lows will drop into the 40s.
Any morning showers should give way to clearing on Friday with sunshine developing and highs in the upper 50s with westerly breezes. Lows will be in the upper 30s.
The air mass moving in by next weekend will be modified, meaning not as cold as it will be traveling in from the middle of the country, and not northern Canada.
Because of this, next weekend looks autumnal, but not super cold with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s.

AND REMEMBER…
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
