YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning folks, well, our drought continues but it is nice for many of us to wake up to a wet ground for a change. We also have some patchy fog in spots, but with the warm front peeling away to the east, we’ll clear out and warm up, and that fog will evaporate back into the ethers from when it came with time this morning.
For the rest of the day, broad southerly flow will help raise our highs into the upper 60s to mid 70s under mostly sunny skies with light southwest winds. We could see some gustier conditions in the high terrain overnight with lows in the low to mid 50s.
By tomorrow / Thursday, some record high temps may be tied or broken as we soar into the mid 70s to low 80s under mostly sunny skies for a late summer redux ahead of an incoming cold front that pushes through late Thursday night into early Friday morning.
A few showers are expected late Thursday night into early Friday morning with a frontal passage with lows only bottoming out in the mid 50s. Southerly winds may come up a bit overnight, but behind the front is when I expect westerlies will gust 20-35mph at times.
With very little rain overnight into Friday, it will remain dry, and I would not be surprised to see Red Flag Warnings hoisted by the NWS for Friday due to high risk of fire spread conditions. Highs will be warm, into the low to mid 70s prior to falling back into the mid to upper 30s at night.
The weekend looks seasonable under mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 40s to mid 50s with lows in the upper 20s to low 30s Saturday night and the mid to upper 30s Sunday night.
High pressure will be building south of us again by early next week, and warmer temps are expected, but there will be a battle setting up between a frontal boundary to our north and warmth south, so uncertainty remains. It does look dry, though, and the reality now is that we look to sometime either side of the middler of November for any hope of real rainfall.
Have a great day, and please remember my calendar as you think about your holiday gift shopping, or for yourself (sale ends 11/10):
