YOUR WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
–Patchy fog, dense in some spots this morning
–Fog evaporates later this morning, and a very warm, and even humid day is on tap
–Highs in the 70s to low 80s with dewpoints in the 60s will provide a muggy, late summer feel
–Lows tonight will be in the 50s to near 60º for some, with more patchy fog
–Wednesday is almost a copy of today, and possibly a touch warmer with a few folks hitting highs in the mid 80s with sunny skies, and lows in the 50s
–Thursday is our final fair weather day for a bit with partly sunny skies for much of the day, and clouds increasing later, with highs in the 70s
–Friday should feature a few showers as a large trough approaches from the west, siphoning moisture northward
–Friday night into Saturday looks like a washout to be honest, so stay tuned for updates
–We may see instability last into Sunday and possibly early next week as much cooler air arrives as we step down into another level of the incoming cold season, but before we talk details let’s check a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with their newest location in the Stop & Shop Plaza on King Street in Northampton, MA.
YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, we’ve got some patchy dense fog out there this morning, but this will evaporate as our surface warms up with sun rise underway.

Again, summah lovahs, you gotta soak up the next 2-3 days, because as far as I can see, our pattern is shifting to cooler temps into mid-October, so get your warmth while you can!

Highs today with high pressure over the Mid-Atlantic region will top out in the upper 70s to low 80s under sunny skies with dewpoints in the 60s, so it will be a legit summer day!

Lows will drop into the 50s, and more patchy fog will form late, otherwise it will be clear.

For Wednesday, we’ll get essentially a copy of today, but with temps a touch warmer, so it’s not possible that the valley sees widespread low to mid 80s for highs! The hilltowns, Berkshires and areas north of MA will see upper 70s to low 80s, generally, with lows in the 50s to near 60º.

By Thursday, our high pressure system continues to track east and into the ocean, which begins to open up southerly moist flow which advects northward into New England from and to the east of a large incoming upper level trough which will be our pattern changer.

This starts off as an increase in clouds later Thursday into the night. Highs will sit in the 70s as a result, with lows in the low to mid 50s.

As we move into Friday, clouds thicken, and a few scattered showers will be tracking through the region with highs either side of 70º.

However, by Friday night and through Saturday, periods of rain, heavy at times, should develop as our trough pushes closer to New England, and impulses track near or into our region.

This has the potential to be a wash out with another steady and/or heavy rain event, but that is subject to change, so stay tuned for updates.

Highs should only reach the low to mid 60s Saturday, and may not even reach 60º on Sunday as colder air works into the region.

With the upper trough still needing to work through the region, we may see instability showers last into Sunday and even early next week.

Shower and rain coverage details are murky at the moment and in need of more refinement regarding impacts, but it generally looks unsettled Friday night into early next week, and certainly *much* cooler.

Stay tuned, and have a great day!

P.S. I am going to take advantage of the fair weather and get some sleep the next couple of mornings, so no report Wednesday which is patchy fog in the morning followed by warm sun during the day, and I will be back by Thursday evening with an update, and certainly Friday morning.

>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
