YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning folks, our unseasonable warmth is going to come to an end after today with seasonable cool downs behind two weak cold fronts overnight tonight and again Saturday morning, but I do see one more warm-up by the middle of next week prior to potentially “sitting back down” for the rest of 2024, but we’ll see how that more distant future unfolds.
For today, south to southwest winds develop after patchy fog burns off, and will drive temps up into the low to mid 70s under mostly sunny skies with gusts of 20-30mph possible by afternoon.
This will increase the risk of fire spread, and hence a Red Flag Warning has been hoisted for northern CT where we already know a bad brush fire in Berlin, CT very sadly took the life of one firefighter, so don’t be a dummy and control any out door burns, and put out any cigarettes like an adult and not a careless fool.
A cold front moves through tonight and brings a few showers, mainly west of the I-91 corridor, but little rain will result from this passage. Lows will dip to the upper 40s to low 50s.
On Thursday, mostly sunny skies will resume with cooler highs in the mid 50s to low 60s which is more seasonable, and northwest winds will gust over 20mph again as the cooler air continues to advect into the region. Lows will drop into the mid to upper 30s under mostly clear skies.
Mostly sunny skies should persist into next week except fro Friday night into early Saturday when a second cold front pushes through the region, again with a few showers possible.
Highs Friday and Saturday are in the mid 50s to low 60s with lows in the low to mid 30s under clearing skies by Saturday night.
Sunday and Monday look cooler with fair weather, and highs only in the upper 40s to low 50s with a freeze Sunday night as bottom out in the mid to upper 20s.
Fair weather continues into the middle of next week, and another warm up is expected as high pressure scoots south of us and returns more southerly flow. After that period into the first week of November there are some signs of more pronounced cooling, but we’ll get there when we get there.
Have a great day, and please remember my calendar as you think about your holiday gift shopping, or for yourself (order link below):
