Good morning to you, after a cold (and potentially frosty) start today and tomorrow we will get on the back/western side of coastal high pressure which will warm us into the 60s this weekend into next week.
We’ll enjoy fair weather today through Saturday, with showers moving in by Sunday afternoon or night lasting into Monday followed by more showers by later next week with stormier pattern developing across the middle of the country as we end October, but before we jump into the details, let’s check a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with their newest location in West Springfield, MA.

WEATHER REPORT
Good morning galactic citizens of the Milky Way Galaxy, arise! Stand up and be counted! Seize the day! Or if you’re like me, make some coffee!
Remember that when and if most things fail in life, if you’re fortunate enough to have motor control over your facial muscles and some amount of remnant mental faculties, you can always raise your eyebrows and let your mouth open a hair and then think back to some of your most favorite times in your Life.
Then, from that place, let a gentle smile wash over you as you re-live that event — stay there for a minute… savor that time… then get on with your day.
It’s a nice little useful resource if you’re stressed out or struggling with anything.
Sometimes we just need to take a good-memory break!
Ok, now on to the weather, replete with double–dashes! Will miracles never cease!
DHTWN’S IT’S-NOT-SUMMERY SUMMARY
–Did you get any frost over night? As I alluded to in my evening posts, if the wind tanked overnight, frost would be more likely to form, though it is rather dry out, so perhaps you were spared… let a nut know
–We’re certainly cold now, with temps in the upper 20s to mid 30s, though no fog is noted
–High pressure continues to slowly nose in from the southwest which will keep us quite dry today, and sunny, with southwest winds gusting 10-20mph and highs upper 40s to mid 50s
–Today is our last unusually chilly day until at least the following weekend after this one upcoming
–Lows tonight will crash again into the upper 20s to mid 30s, with some upper 30s in northern CT, with some patchy frost possible for one more overnight period
–Skies should be mostly clear, though some moisture aloft may float through and curb frost formation
–Friday and Saturday look amazing: plenty of sun, highs upper 50s to low 60s Friday with lows in the mid 30s, and then highs low to mid 60s Saturday with lows near 40º
–This will be due to high pressure moving through the region from the southwest and FINALLY kicking that chilly upper low to the Canadian curb! #BuhBye
–By Sunday (and even Saturday night) clouds will be building into the region
–As high pressure kicks east, low pressure moves south to north up the eastern seaboard to replace it, but the storm doesn’t look all that impressive
–Clouds thicken Sunday with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s and showers are likely to arrive sometime between mid-afternoon and early evening, reaching eastern CT and southern CMass first
–Sunday night into Monday looks showery at the moment, but highs should hang in the low to mid 60s into the middle of next week, but clouds look like they’ll hang with us, too
–We’re looking like we enter a new pattern next week with more storms parading across the center and northern part of the country, so we may move from showers arriving every 5-7 days to a shorter wavelength, but I will keep you updated on all of that
Have a great day, and if you like my work you can support it by buying one or three (for gifts!) of my 2023 calendars… it’s a great local-color-filled daily companion and this year is replete with tons of cool local storm history!

“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
