YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, did anyone see the graupel yesterday?
#LetANutKnow
Thanks for all of the rainbow pics!!
We could see a spot shower or two today, but not of the intensity or coverage we saw yesterday when some of us got a decent drink of rain in those transient showers.
It was a great cloud day!
For today, morning sun begets afternoon clouds thanks to cold air aloft. We’ll see some sunny periods, too, but the cold air will allow the heating of the day to kick up some vapor bubbles.
Any showers that form will die down tonight, and lows will drop into the upper 30s to mid 40s under partly cloudy skies.
For Wednesday, a partly sunny day is again expected after some patchy morning fog, with highs reaching the upper 50s to low 60s, with a few mid 60s readings possible south of the Pike.
High pressure builds in Wednesday night into Thursday night and kicks our upper level low out to sea finally, with Wed. night lows in the low 40s, and highs mostly in the low to mid 60s under sunny skies.
After Thursday night lows in the low to mid 40s, we will cloud up on Friday.
I will be watching a strong upper level low dig into the Great Lakes region as we move into Friday, and this is expected to spawn a coastal surface low pressure system off of the southern Mid-Atlantic coastline.
As moisture increases in the region into Friday afternoon, some scattered showers should start to move southwest to northeast into our area. Highs will be mild, reaching the low to mid 60s.
By Friday night into Saturday our storm will track closer, but the storm track will be important in determining how far west heavier rains are flung. The track and speed of deepening also will play into how far storm winds develop.
For now, I would think gusty winds over 25 or 30mph would be relegated to CMass and northeast CT, with less here in the WMass area up into SVT and down into northwest CT.
However, this could change, so stay tuned for updates. The bottom line is that a showery and breezy day is expected Saturday with highs in the 55-60º range.
Showers should end at night, and then as the storm blows up over Maine, and strong high pressure starts to press in from our west, the pressure gradient will steepen substantially, allowing for northwest gusts of 25-45mph to develop the way it looks now.
I should note that the higher end of that range would likely be seen across the high terrain west of the CT River in VT and MA, and also into the Worcester highlands.
Gusty winds could continue Sunday afternoon, night and into Monday with highs only in the 40s to mid 50s both of those days and lows in the 35-40º range. Frost would be unlikely with gusty winds at night, but I will keep you updated.
As Ringo would say, I’m sending peace and love to your hearts, and I hope your life and the people in your life are as safe and healthy as can be today.
Be well…
>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
