DAVE’S WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL
We’re on a weather rollercoaster this week, starting today folks! Good morning! Rise and grumble! I mean, seize the day! Anyway, we’ve got morning showers tracking east and away with a lovely, final warm day ahead.

After that, temps drop this afternoon and tonight with a return to autumnal temps and windy conditions at times. It’ll be very cold by Wednesday morning, which will be followed by a late-week warm up, a potentially very rainy and windy storm Friday night and Saturday, and even colder air behind that system by early next week, but before we jump into the details, let’s check a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with their newest location in West Springfield, MA.

WEATHER REPORT
Good morning everybody, we have so much going on over the next week with weather ups and downs, including some celestial wonderment featuring a Full Beaver Moon that rises at 4:16pm this afternoon, and then begins Full Lunar Eclipse about 12 hours later in the pre-dawn hours, and going full at 6am just a half hour before dipping below the west-northwestern horizon, so be sure to catch it up if you are up early!

As for our weather, we’ve got another warm start today, but by tomorrow this time temps will be some 30 degrees colder than they are now! #BackToReality

I’m going to liberally sprinkle double–dashes below to rip through the details, and when you’re done reading *please* do check my 2023 weather calendar if you are a calendar buyer or gift-giver, I’ve never worked harder in 9 years of publishing, I think you’ll feel it’s money well spent.

SUMMARY
–A cold front is working through the region currently
–Morning showers moving through the region will see rapid clearing behind them as sunshine develops by mid to late morning west to east
–Temps now in the 60s will rise into the upper 60s to mid 70s by very early afternoon
–Southerly winds will veer around to the west and gust 25-35mph as colder air works in behind the front this afternoon, when temps will start dropping
–There’s a risk of fire spread as the air mass behind this front is SUPER dry, so wind, dry air, and drying surface could combine so don’t be dumb with fire stuff
–Temps tonight will crash into the upper 20s to upper 30s for lows as west and northwest winds continue to gust to 25mph at times
–Bundle up tomorrow morning!
–Tuesday and Wednesday will feature powerful Canadian high pressure moving in towards New England with mostly sunny skies and continued gusty winds Tuesday up to 30mph or so, this time out of the north
–Highs will only reach the upper 40s to low 50s Tuesday with lows in the low to mid 20s as a hard freeze moves through
–Highs Wednesday will be up a touch, but still only in the low to mid 50s as winds slacken with the high moving overhead, and lows in the low to mid 30s
–By Thursday high pressure moves east and offshore, putting us back into southerly flow
–With Tropical Storm Nicole moving into eastern FL likely by Thursday, a very warm and moist air mass will be drawn northward up the eastern seaboard
–Thursday will be the pick of the week with sunshine and milder highs into the low to mid 60s with lows in the 40s
–Humidity increases Friday, as do clouds, and Nicole’s remnants will be pulled north and possibly drawn through New England, although exact track is uncertain
–The potential exists for heavy rain and wind, so stay tuned for future updates
–Highs Friday and Saturday reach the low to mid 60s and Saturday could be quite wet!
–Behind that storm, as it races northeast and away, even colder air gets pulled into New England with highs likely only in the 40s on Sunday and possibly into early next week as the lake effect snow machine may turn on over western NY

Have a great day, and please do pick up one or a few 2023 weather calendars as the locally-snapped photos are serene and beautiful, and you’ll learn a ton of cool weather stuff including local storm history (info at this website link):

AND REMEMBER…
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
