YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning humans of the Golden West, may the figurative skies and oceans in your life part in front of you and allow you to talk into experiences that you would appreciate experiencing, and may things go your way today. May be it so!
What is also “so”, is that it’s freakin’ chilly outside!
The winds are going to slacken (and already have for some) but we had gusts overnight up to 35mph at Barnes in Westfield and the Pittsfield Muni Airport, with wind chills in the single digits in teens… pretty chilly for late November! It’s not even winter yet!
Anyway, we’ve got a pair of winning days ahead, though some in the northern Berkshires, northwest hilltowns and southwest VT will see some morning snow showers that should mark the end of the lake effect snow for the time being. Some folks in NY state got over 2 or even 3 feet of snow!!!
It always could be worse, folks, which is a good start for a gratitude practice — generally, no matter what any of us are going through it could be much worse, so at least we have that going for us!
I continue to digress, tell that Nut to get to the weather for cripes sake!!!
Highs today will reach the low to mid 30s with some upper 30s in the southern valley down into northern CT with winds lightening, and then backing out of the west-southwest as high pressure begins to track south of us.
Lows tonight will be cold with light wind and at least partly cloudy skies allowing for some radiational cooling, and lows either side of 20º.
Thursday is the weekly pick, with light wind, sunny skies and highs in the low to mid 40s, with lows either side of 30º.
On Friday, a weak system will be kicking east out of the Mississippi River Valley, and it will be weakening as it tracks east, and “opening up”.
It should amount to an area of lighter showers that arrives later Friday afternoon after a partly sunny start to the day (highs in the 40s), with showers around or just before sunset and lasting into the evening. A few wet snowflakes are possible in the high terrain before it all quits late at night with lows in the low to mid 30s.
Saturday should at least start off fairly dry. I expect a mostly dry day at the moment, with highs either side of 40º.
However, there is uncertainty about the potential for a follow-up system that could bring more showers Saturday night into Sunday morning, so I will have to update you on that.
The rough picture is Saturday first half of the day and Sunday second half of the day look pretty good with highs upper 30s to mid 40s both days and at least periods of partial sunshine.
By Monday, milder temps in the 40s should still be present, and we have a stronger signal for a bigger rainstorm tracking northeast up the eastern seaboard and into New England with more rainfall Monday afternoon into Monday night.
I do also see another Arctic outbreak shaping up for the middle of next week with much colder temps, so stay tuned for updates, as I have a lot to sort out for you still, but we’ll get there.
Have a great day!
>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
