>>> MORNING DISCUSSION <<<
Good morning everybody, get out and enjoy the day, because sunshine will be fleeting as a storm system is set to be drawn north-northeast from the Virginia coastline thanks to an incoming neutrally-tilting upper low that looks to energize our surface storm into a potent punch packer after midnight with rain becoming heavy at times, especially east of the I-91 corridor.

Some folks in eastern parts of WMass and especially CMass and northeast CT could be woken up by heavy rain hitting the roof, so don’t be surprised if that happens, and some gusty winds could accompany said heavy rain as well in those areas where it maximizes.

To back up, today features early partial sunshine with increasing clouds, a light south wind, and highs in the low to mid 40s.

As our storm moves into the region, enough cold air will be available to start as snow in the center of southern VT where the mountains are, extending that hilly spine down into northeast Berkshire and northwest Franklin Counties for a quick coating to an inch before mild air overwhelms all levels, and changes snow to rain, with plain rain everywhere else in the region. Lows will hang in the mid 30s.

The heaviest rain moves in overnight, and is likely gone by 6am or so, with improving conditions during Moon Day (which will feature the Full Beaver Moon), as highs rise into the mid to upper 40s.

The cold front’s passage will then cause mostly sunny skies to develop along with winds veering from south to northwest and gusting 20-30mph. Lows will drop into the 20s overnight, and some lake effect snow showers may kiss the Berkshires, Taconics or SVT.

Tuesday and Wednesday are COLD and blustery with highs in the upper 20s to mid 30s, with lows in the teens and 20s under mostly sunny skies, but breezy with northwest gusts over 20mph, and a few lake effect snow showers possible.

Thursday and Friday look better with milder temps climbing back up into the 40s on light southwest flow with partly sunny skies, all of which precedes a quick moving rain producer Friday night into early Saturday, which doesn’t look like a big deal at the moment.

Hopefully we’ll squeeze out a nice weekend to follow the upcoming work week with seasonable chill, all of which may precede another more potent storm system that could bring some wintry precip next Sunday night into Monday.

Have a great day!

>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
