WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL
Top of the morning to you and yours! We’ve got mostly fair and cold weather through Thanksgiving Day before things get stormy again, however tomorrow/Sunday looks to bring windy conditions and potential for heavier snow showers or even a snow squall north of the Pike, but before we dive into all of the weather details below, let’s check a note from our new local weekend sponsor, #CranberryHillHealingArts located in Amherst, MA.

***DHTWN DAILY WEATHER REPORT***
——————————————-
Good morning everybody, we have giant high pressure all the way from the west coast, swooping east-southeast through the Rockies and central/southern Plains, then spreading east-northeast into the Mid-Atlantic region and nudging into New England, with lows near Lake Superior and the northwest Gulf of Mexico.
This is generally going to keep us on the drier side through Thanksgiving, and ensure our weather is peaceful for today.
Highs will be chilly in the mid 30s to low 40s with a light west to southwest wind, and lows will drop to either side of 20º tonight, so it will be quite cold – wintry, even!
For Sunday, we have the upper low responsible for generating almost 6 feet of snow in some places in western NY due to an historic and prodigious lake effect snow setup moving northeast into Canada.
This will swing a cold front into the region, and turn our flow from west-southwest to west-northwest, and this could produce a lake effect snow band that stretches across 3 Great Lakes: Superior, Huron and Ontario!
This could bring some heavier snow showers into our region behind the front, especially north of the Pike in MA and SVT, and also will produce wind gusts of 25-40mph across the region, possibly higher in SVT and SWNH.
In other words, tomorrow is going to be COLD AND BLUSTERY with highs only in the low to mid 30s with wind chills below freezing! We can’t rule out a couple of coatings to an inch of snow, either, if this really sets up.
Lows at night will benefit greatly from continued wind gusts to 25mph, landing us in the upper 10s, otherwise some folks could be seeing single digits in northwest MA and SVT with this incoming air mass if the wind were to be calmer!
Monday is blustery too, but a bit milder, with highs under sunny skies in the mid 30s to low 40s and lows in the low to mid 20s.
For Tuesday through Thanksgiving, less wind and more sunshine is expected with highs in the low to mid 40s and lows in the 20s.
Getting to Thanksgiving looks to be fine travel-wise, but getting home may feature storminess as early as Thanksgiving Night (some snow showers are possible), with a better chance of a rainstorm for Friday and/or Saturday, but uncertainty remains.
My 2023 calendar sale ends tomorrow, folks, so if whether it’s for you personally or for others as gifts, the time to order is truly now as I have sold out in the past, and I must get numbers to my long-time, trusted printer to get these to you in time for the holidays and new year (just click below, and thank you!)

“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
