–Patchy fog burns off this morning with a frosty start
–Sunshine develops with highs in the mid 40s to low 50s north to south across the greater WMass region (upper 40s valley)
–Light wind today, tonight and tomorrow, turning southerly
–Chilly and clear tonight, lows upper 20s to mid 30s
–Thursday and Friday represent increasingly mild temps with southwest flow and highs in the 50s to low 60s under sunny skies with lows in the 30s Thursday night
–It will be breezy on Friday as well with gusts 15-25mph
–Friday night clouds up with lows in the low 40s, and rain showers move in from an approaching cold front from the west
–Meanwhile a coastal low passes east of Cape Cod and could increase rain intensity Saturday for eastern CT and CMass
–Otherwise, we mostly see a cold frontal passage with showers into Saturday, but I will update you
–Some snow showers possible in the high terrain Saturday evening behind the cold front
–Highs Saturday in the low 50s drop to the 40s on Sunday with increasing sunshine (weekend pick)
–Monday and Tuesday looks cold with highs either side of 40º with partly sunny skies, but more rain arrives Tuesday evening into Wednesday which may hamper some early Thanksgiving travel, but before we talk details let’s check a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with their newest location in the Stop & Shop Plaza on King Street in Northampton, MA.

YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning folks, we’re in the process of stepping down into deeper Autumn as we push through the middle of November and begin the slide into and through Thanksgiving which lands us soon enough into December.
Based on what I’m seeing at the moment, our temperatures will be following suit and playing the part, but not before we get a lovely trio of increasingly mild days with above-average temps slated for Thursday and Friday before more rain showers arrive, and cooler temps return.
For today, we have some early patchy fog that isn’t too dense which should burn off soon, and give rise to a mostly sunny day with calm wind and highs either side of 50º (though SVT/SWNH may hang in the mid 40s, so cooler up that way).
Lows tonight will tank into the upper 20s to mid 30s as high pressure continues its eastward slide well south of us, which with clockwise circulation will gently press southwesterly flow into our region for the end of the work week, resulting in a nice mild pump of air.
Highs Thursday will be well into the 50s under sunny skies, and a few southern valley locations will hit the 60º mark, with lows in the 30s.
By Friday, our incoming upper level feature with its cold front will be pushing lower pressure towards us, and givne high pressure south of us, a southwest wind will develop, gusting 15-25mph at times.
Sunshine will still prevail, with highs in the 50s to low 60s, so I would STRONGLY suggest a lunchtime walk outside, a day off if you can swing it, or just plans to at least get outside for a bit if you can. It will be lovely!
It will also be short-lived, as clouds will increase late in the day as I’ll be watching a coastal low get its act together off of the southeast U.S. coast and ride north-northeast up the western edge of the eastward-departing high pressure that will have given us this loveliness.
In addition, our upper level low to the west and cold front will tracking east.
How these features interact and “shake hands” (or not) over southern New England Friday night into Saturday will dictate how much rain we see, and where.
For now, I don’t think they fully phase, and so far eastern parts of CT and CMass into EMass and RI should see the steadier/heavier rains, where as the WMass region should mainly see the cold frontal / upper level low showers, which will provide a showery setup for Friday night into the first part of Saturday, but hopefully not a washout.
Lows Friday night with clouds around hang near 40º or so, and highs on Saturday will reach the low 50s, with lows either side of 30º as any lingering showers may turn to snow showers over the high terrain.
By Sunday, we should be clearing out with colder air advecting in, and highs only in the 40s under mostly sunny skies with northwest breezes, and lows in the 20s.
Similar weather is expected for Monday, and then on Tuesday I will be watching another storm system gather itself, and this one looks to track west of us bringing a more widespread and possibly heavy rainfall Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Behind THAT cold front, colder air will empty into the eastern U.S. as a cold Canadian high looks to cool down much of the country during the last week of November including Thanksgiving, or just after it, so stay tuned for updates as our weather is starting to look a bit changeable.
Have a great day!
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
