–Highs in the upper 30s to upper 40s from north to south, mostly mid 40s in the valley
–Northwest winds gust 10-20mph
–High pressure moves east tonight, wind slackens, radiational cooling forms, with lows in the 20s and clearing skies late
–Sunnier skies tomorrow, highs mid 40s to low 50s, lows either side of 30º, clear skies
–Thursday and Friday are sunny and warm well into the 50s with light southwest flow, and a few spots should crest 60º on Friday
–Lows likely in the 30s Thursday night and low to mid 40s Friday night
–Clouds build late Friday and early Friday night with a cold front approaching from the west
–Showers will develop after midnight, and Saturday looks rainy at the moment with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s
–Sunday is the weekend pick with increasing sunshine, and cooler temps in the 40s for highs, which lasts into Monday and hopefully Tuesday
–Wednesday could see another rainstorm move into the region, and we can’t rule out wintry precipitation either which could impact holiday travel, but before we talk details let’s check a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with their newest location in the Stop & Shop Plaza on King Street in Northampton, MA.

YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning folks, thanks very much for all of the flurry and snow shower reports last night, a number of communities got coatings, and some reached close to an inch of snow, and maybe a touch more as a shortwave flexed its muscle on the way southeast into New England last evening.
A few more morning snow or mixed showers are moving through, but those should end over the next few hours and not amount to much.
Watch for black ice patches this morning, as that snow didn’t go anywhere overnight if it wasn’t treated, and there is also some freezing fog that formed in SVT, SWNH and northern MA, so there could be some slick spots out there.
Temps will come up above freezing as the sun comes up, so that will end the slippery surface threat, but I don’t expect a ton of sun today, as a departing shortwave causes clouds to linger through the morning, with some sunny breaks later.
Highs will reach the upper 30s to mid 40s in most of SVT, SWNH, WMass and northern CMass with mid to upper 40s in the southern Pioneer Valley, southern CMass and northern CT. It will be breezy at times with northwest gusts 10-20mph, but not too windy.
With high pressure pushing east and into our region, skies could partially clear tonight with winds slackening, which will allow for temps to crash into the 20s for lows.
On Wednesday, high pressure moving overhead begets more sunshine with highs in the mid 40s to low 50s and a lighter southwest flow developing as the high is set to push its center to our south and off of the Mid-Atlantic coastline. Lows will drop to either side of 30º.
Thursday and Friday will feature a lovely period to end the week with highs in the 50s Thursday, and mid 50s to low 60s on Sunday with plenty of sunshine and lows in the 30s — a nice bit of fair weather to end the week!
However, by late Friday, clouds will be building into the region, and I will be watching the interaction between a low tracking north of us, its upper level component to the west, a surface cold front, and a coastal low with potential tropical features tracking up the eastern seaboard to see how much rainfall we can expect late Friday night and into Saturday, as I believe our streak of two dry weekends in a row will not be extended to a third.
At the moment, it looks like the heaviest/steadiest rain would fall east of the I-91 corridor, but I will update you as we get closer. Highs should reach the upper 40s to mid 50s on Saturday.
Behind the cold front, lows dive down to near 30º at night, and then Sunday will be cooler with at least partly sunny skies and highs in the 40s. This cooler fair weather should extend into Monday, and possibly even Tuesday before I’ll be watching another potential storm system develop for the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
This system is likely a rain producer, but there are some colder signals as well with colder air coming in behind that system, so I can’t rule out a bit of wintry precipitation either, so stay tuned for updates, as that system could impact holiday travel.
Have a great day!
>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
