YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, it’s a chilly start out there with Cummington coming in at 36º for the lowest low!!
We’re heading into high pressure country as an old upper trough kicks east, and a giant surface high pressure system dives southeast toward the Mid-Atlantic region.
This will provide us with northwest flow through today and tomorrow, then turning to southwest flow by Sunday and early next week as it positions itself south of us, due to the high’s clockwise flow.
This means sun, sun, and more sun, and increasing warmth, too, without a ton of humidity – hooray!
For today, high pressure will still be to our west and building southeast.
This will produce some northwest wind gusts of 15-25mph at times, with highs in the low to mid 70s under mostly sunny skies with lows in the mid to upper 40s.
I think Saturday may be the nicest June day we’ll experience!
Highs will reach the mid 70s to low 80s with light northwest wind and plenty of sunshine and lower humidity. Lows will come up into the low to mid 50s as flow turns west and then southwest into Sunday.
As this happens, a weak wave is going to try and ride the northern flank of high pressure moving into and off of the DelMarVa Peninsula.
Sunday should become more partly sunny, especially toward mid-day, and then cloudier the more south you go in the greater WMass region with a chance for some scattered showers south of the Pike late in the day and at night.
Highs will reach the 75-80º range, and again most of us enjoy a dry, mixed-sky day, with the more likely result being the wave tracks so far south that it even leaves northern CT dry, but some showers are possible by Sunday night with lows in the mid 50s.
Then we’ll see a return to mostly sunny conditions Monday through Wednesday with highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s with a chance for some showers by mid to late week (more likely late week as of this writing).
Basically, we’ve got it easy in the near-term Weather Department, folks, and since it never lasts forever in New England, it’s nice to have the outside environment be supportive of outdoor plans.
We’ll need more rain in many parts of the region by next weekend, but for now, we’re gonna make it after all.
–Peek-a-boo stars wait ’til night
–Hidden gems, revealed
Have a great day!
>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
