WEATHER REPORT
Good morning everybody, I’m in a double–dash mood this morning, so it’s time to let ’em rip!
–Morning clouds will dissipate and reveal a mostly sunny day
–However, clouds will develop from northeast to southwest with time today, thanks to low pressure in the Gulf of Maine that will draw a cold front into our WMass region by tonight
–Before the front arrives, temps are expected to rise into the mid 80s to low 90s for many in the CT River Valley and points west, with upper 70s to mid 80s east of there as clouds build by early afternoon
–It will be humid with dewpoint temps in the low to mid 60s, but the backdoor front will break that muggy feel later tonight
–Winds will be light to the west of the front, but could gust to 25mph along and northeast of the front as it tracks southwest
–Showers and thunderstorms are expected to fire over the WMass region later this afternoon and evening along this front
–Some storms may produce hail and torrential rainfall, and I will hop on here later this afternoon with an update
–Any showers and storms will wane into the midnight timeframe, but more periods of showers and a possible thunderstorm are expected for Wednesday into Wednesday night
–Lows tonight will drop into the low to mid 50s
–For Wednesday, again, periods of showers are expected
–The heaviest showers right now look to fall in the evening, with more thunderstorms possible
–Highs Wednesday will be much cooler, only reaching into the mid to upper 60s with a marine air mass advecting into the region from the east, which will produce more clouds than sun
–Lows will drop into the mid to upper 50s
–Thursday looks like a nice day right now with partly sunny skies and highs well into the 70s and lows in the mid to upper 50s
–However, another wave is expected to track from northwest to southeast through the region later Thursday night into and through Friday evening with periods of showers at times
–Friday’s highs should reach the upper 60s to low 70s with lows in the 50s as showers abate
–The weekend looks lovely with dry conditions, mostly sunny skies, highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s… can’t beat that for early June!
–A few showers are possible to kick off next week, with continued highs in the 70s
–We have to watch the tropics a system looks to cross Florida from the Gulf and pass to our south, thanks to an incoming cold front, without which we could be vulnerable, so I will continue to watch the timing of these features and keep you informed!
Have a great day!
