DHTWN REMINDER:
There’s a lot of to be distraught about these days, but life goes on, keeps moving, flowing, and willing itself onward. We’re a manifestation and part of that life force, but it goes way beyond us and we’re lucky to be a part of it, even if things aren’t going well. Remember, there’s always a chance things might improve. If you’re struggling, I hope things go better for you today, and I say stay open to the chance that they will – the mind craves certainty, so let’s try to stay open.

MORNING DISCUSSION
Good morning folks, our weather is essentially going to be dominated by high pressure this week, interrupted briefly by a fairly strong cold frontal passage later on Wednesday.

We’ve got patchy fog in spots this morning, and some of it is dense with 0.13 mile visibility noted recently at North Adams in the northern Berkshires, and 1.00 mile visibility down at Westover Air Base in Chicopee.

This will burn off fairly quickly as the sun continues to climb and temps come up.

Highs today will reach the upper 60s to low 70s for most folks across the greater WMass region with a generally light northeast wind that may gust a bit more robustly up to 20mph in southern CMass and northeast CT, and less so in the valley.

We may also see an isolated shower or sprinkle drop from some cumulus clouds later this afternoon. Lows tonight will be in the 40s under partly cloudy skies with patchy fog possible by morning.

More sunshine tomorrow, potentially filtered again by haze from the Canadian wildfires that have been ongoing, with highs in the low 70s, and lows in the 40s under mostly clear skies.

By the way, Tuesday night is ideal for western-sky viewing of the planetary conjunction of Mars, the Crescent Moon and Venus, before they set in the west so check that out!

Wednesday starts off sunny with highs well into the 70s, but a cold front will be careening southeast toward New England and clouds will build by early afternoon with showers expected by late afternoon into the evening.

The further north you go in MA, and up into SVT and SWNH is where a higher chance exists for showers, and the dynamics should weaken toward the south. A thunderstorm is also possible.

Behind the front, northwesterlies will pick up and gust 20-30mph at night and into part of Thursday as cold air advects into the region.

Thursday and Friday look cooler, with highs only in the 60s along with plenty of sunshine.

By Memorial Day Weekend, I will be watching to see how an upper low to our west interacts with energy to our south, to see if that moisture can be drawn north into New England in an organized way to produce showery periods.

Inclement weather is not a lock for this coming weekend, so stay tuned for updates as we get closer.

I hope you have a great day and that things go your way!

BE KIND
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
