DHTWN REMINDER:
There’s a lot of to be distraught about these days, but life goes on, keeps moving, flowing, and willing itself onward. We’re a manifestation and part of that life force, but it goes way beyond us and we’re lucky to be a part of it, even if things aren’t going well. Remember, there’s always a chance things might improve. If you’re struggling, I hope things go better for you today, and I say stay open to the chance that they will – the mind craves certainty, so let’s try to stay open.

MORNING DISCUSSION
Good morning folks, I just had the good fortune of spending last evening celebrating the life, art, and music of the late but always loved and remembered Doug Tibbles of The Stone Coyotes last night at Hope and Olive in Greenfield with tons of my old friends and musical compadres, and it was just a wonderful, heartfelt and superbly rocking time with an old school crew of western MA musicians, and now my middle-aged butt is super tired, and I didn’t even play!
I think it’s time for some physical fitness routines, this is not going in the right direction, LOL.
Anyway, we’ve got a lovely day ahead, but it will feel more like April than May, with highs in the 50s, so a light bundling of your body may prove useful as you head out into Earth’s atmosphere and do your usual mixing activities with other humans, flora and fauna.
Northwest winds will gust up to 25mph at times today, and with super dry surfaces and air moving in, Red Flag Warnings have been hoisted by the NWS once again.
Also hoisted are Freeze Watches for much of WMass, all of SVT/SWNH, and northwest CT for tonight, and these will likely convert to Freeze Warnings later, with Frost Advisories mixed in as well.
All this to say, it ain’t gonna be a mild night, folks.
Now normally when any wind is present, it helps to mix the atmosphere, and even with dry air and clear skies in place, temps can hang a bit more to the mild side.
But when the wind dies down in these situations, temps can really plummet as radiational cooling is maximized, and that appears more likely than not tonight, with lows in the 20s to low 30s expected for many of us.
This brings us to our Hashtags of the Day:
#MindYourButtsBurnsAndBBQs
#ProtectYourPlantsPlantPeeps
After a very cold mid-May night, we’ll rebound into the 60s under sunny skies for Thursday and Friday, with lows in the upper 30s to low 40s Thursday night, and in the 40s Friday night as clouds increase ahead of our next storm system.
By Saturday, clouds will be locked into the region, as a coastal system tracks northeast toward southeast MA with a cold front also pushing toward the eastern seaboard.
This should allow rain to reach our area by late morning to early afternoon and last through Saturday night before the front sweeps all of the showers seaward by Sunday morning.
Sunday is definitely the pick of the weekend with sunshine developing and highs reaching the low to mid 70s.
Fair weather then continues next week with northwest flow and high pressure setting up to our west. This will keep temps in the 60s to low 70s for highs, with our next shower chance not arriving until late next week.
I hope you have a great day and that things go your way!
BE KIND
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
