Frost Possible Wednesday Night

Frost Possible Wednesday Night

Good morning everybody, our sunshine-y abundance continues today and through the early week before a strong cold front may be bring a few showers and be preceded by dry, windy and warm conditions that could enhance the risk of fire spread.

The big weather headline that we continue to see developing is a risk for patchy frost late Wednesday night, when temps could dip to the freezing mark for a night before warming back up into the late week period with rainstorm potential for Saturday, but before we jump into the weather and daily details below, let’s check a note from our new weekend sponsor, #RedFireFarm located in Granby, MA.

OUR LOVELY SPRING CONTINUES
–To all the Moms out there: I worked very, VERY hard in conjunction with the Mom of Moms (Mother Nature) to produce this day
–I called in all the favors for 2023, so I’m flush out, but hopefully today was worth it, and I hope you enjoy this day!
–All attempts at (bad) humor aside, today will be lovely, though a bit cooler than previous days
–Highs may not even crest 60º in parts of southern VT, but should rise into the low to mid 60s for most of us, with some upper 60s in central or southern valley locations down into north-central and northeast CT
–Some high clouds will float overhead, and sun may filtered at times, but overall, a lovely day lies ahead
–For tonight, it will be chilly with lows in the upper 30s to low 40s under mostly clear skies
–High pressure over Canada will track southeast and turn our winds more westerly for Monday and Tuesday, which will pull warmer air into the region
–Sunny skies will continue with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s Monday and well into the 70s for Tuesday
–Wind gusts will start to pickup as well Monday night into Tuesday, and cause an enhanced risk for fire spread
–While we likely stay mostly dry, some scattered showers are possible Tuesday night as a strong moisture-starved cold front works through the region with lows near 40º
–This will cool us way down on Wednesday, and many areas won’t even see 60º! Expect mid to upper 50s for high temps
–With clear skies, calm winds, and dry air, temps will likely crash behind the front Wednesday night, down into the low to mid 30s
–This means that frost formation continues to look likely, so all of our #PlantPeople need to consider a plan of action, if required
–After a very chilly start Wednesday night, we start to rebound into the late week period with, you guessed it, MORE sunshine for Thursday and Friday
–Temps will slowly climb into the 60s for Thursday and climb up to either side of 70º on Friday
–After that, we watch to see if a frontal boundary and coastal storm system “join hands” to produce a rainstorm next Saturday which (while bad timing for work-week folks) would be welcome at this point given the dry pattern in which we find ourselves

Have a great day, and Happy Mother’s Day!

BE KIND
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
