–1-3″ of rain is expected, as is some street flooding, with any river flooding mostly in EMass and RI

–Highs will be in the 40s tomorrow with lows in the low to mid 30s as skies start to clear and we dry out
–Friday looks lovely, with partly to mostly sunny skies with highs in the low 50s and lows near 30º
–Saturday clouds up, but should be mostly dry prior to another storm system’s arrival at night
–This will help produce some wet snow in SVT, northwest MA and north-central MA in the high terrain, but it should be a mostly rainy system into Sunday, but I will update as we get closer
–By Sunday night into Monday a brief blustery cooler period comes in on gusty northwest winds with lake effect snow showers expected before a spring surge resumes by mid week

YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, we’re starting out this morning in the 30s and 40s with patchy fog and drizzle, and while a few spots in the southern Greens may be seeing slick spots due to drizzle combining with temps at freezing.
Temps come up fairly quickly today with brief drying and a few sunny breaks before clouds thicken once again. Highs will reach the 55-60º range.
Our southern stream storm system (4S Special) tracks northeast out of South Carolina and heads for Nantucket tonight, combining its rich Gulf-tapped moisture field with an upper level jet maxima that will be spreading away from the jet core as it speeds up (a/k/a “divergence”), which will vacuum converging surface air skyward and create intense rising air within a warm air layer about 2 miles thick, which will create heavy rain at times, (torrential, in fact) which should cause some areas of street flooding in our region.
After a dry day, rain arrives either side of 6pm and becomes heavy overnight. River flooding should be mostly restricted areas in eastern CMass, eastern CT, and RI into EMass.
1-3″ of rain is expected, and showers will continue into Thursday morning before tapering as drier northerlies gust 15-25mph in the afternoon with highs in the 40s and lows near 30º.
Friday looks lover-ly, with sunshine, highs 45-50º, and peaceful conditions. Enjoy! Lows will drop to the upper 20s tot low 30s.
By Saturday, clouds increase again as a storm system pushes into NY state at night, potentially spawning a secondary low that tracks northeast out of the NYC metro and brings rain and high terrain wet snow in Saturday night lasting into Sunday.
This sould be a mostly rain system, but we can’t rule out 1-4″ of wet snow in the mountains of far northwest MA, north-central MA, SVT and SWNH.
Behind that system later Sunday, strong northwest winds gust 25-40mph with a brief cold shot and lake effect snow shower potential for Sunday night into MOnday with light snow accumulations possible.
By the middle of next week, spring is SURGING, as the Vernal Equinox careens towards us… or as we careen towards it… how does time work again? The movie “Arrival” might offer some clues ;-)
Have a great day, and if my work helps you, please help keep it going throughout 2024… it’s your support that keeps me on this job for you and yours (options include Cards, PayPal, Venmo, or Check, thank you!)
>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
