MORNING DISCUSSION
Good morning everybody, quick report today as we have a rather symmetrical 3-day period of fair weather through mid-week, then a 3-day period of inclement weather Thursday into the weekend, but I don’t see any tempests looming at the moment.

Let’s start by wishing you a Happy First Day of Spring! The Vernal Equinox passes at 5:24pm this afternoon about 10 minutes before almost-new moon sets.

As for our weather, we’ve got a giant high pressure system with a southwest-to-northeast axis from the Gulf of Mexico to New England, sliding east with time.

This will produce mostly sunny skies today through Wednesday with increasing temperatures.

There will be a bit of pressure gradient today, so southwest winds will gust 15-25mph, with highs in the mid 40s to low 50s, and lows in the mid to upper 20s.

Tuesday and Wednesday are also sunny with highs well into the 50s, and lows Tuesday night near freezing, and then either side of 40º as clouds increase Wednesday night.

Enjoy these next 3 days!

Once we move into Thursday, a boundary will be setting up between milder air southeast and colder air northwest.

The greater WMass region will be situated smack dab in the middle, with disturbances tracking east-northeast through our region Thursday through Sunday.

The first two on Thursday and Friday will bring mild temps in the 50s, and periods of scattered showers, the timing of which will need to be refined as we get closer.

A cold front moves through later Friday, and we will cool down for Saturday with highs in the upper 30s to mid 40s.

A third system will likely be tracking near or south of New England the way it looks now.

The further south it tracks, the more the potential for accumulating snow in the high terrain Saturday night with a rain/snow mix in the valley, so stay tuned for updates on this weekend!

Have a great day, and please note that my Member/Support Drive ends in just 6 days, and I’m far from my goal, please read below…

BE KIND
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
