YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning folks, we’re already seeing rain up along the Rt. 2 corridor and points north into SVT and SWNH, with some transient showers south of there.
The storm is going to track through southern New England this morning, and as such will drag a rain shield through the region, so expect an increasingly rainy/showery morning, especially north of the Pike where the steadier rainfall will occur for longer.
By mid day to early afternoon, our storm should already be in the process of exiting stage right (i.e. east) and we’ll see some partial sunshine develop in its wake this afternoon, with highs in the mid 60s to low 70s.
A few isolated showers may trail this system either later this afternoon or tonight, so while we should still see some clearer skies this evening, some more clouds may build in with a few showers toward midnight with lows either side of 50º.
For the early part of the week, our upper low is still finishing its business with us, and will move through New England and out to sea by about Wednesday.
For Monday and Tuesday, this means we’ll likely see partly to mostly sunny days, but each afternoon will feature a few isolated showers, or a thunderstorm or two, which would be non-severe.
Highs Monday reach the upper 60s to mid 70s with highs in the mid to upper 70s by Tuesday. Monday night looks partly cloudy with lows in the upper 40s to low 50s with lows in the low to mid 50s on Tuesday with clearer skies expected later at night.
By Wednesday into Thursday, our upper low gets east of us with high pressure south as an upper ridge builds across the east coast of the U.S., which will put us into southwest flow.
This means temps and humidity are coming UP for the mid to late week period, with highs soaring into the 80s, and humidity will follow suit with dew points into the 60s.
By later Friday, a cold front will likely be slicing east towards our region as highs potentially crest over 90º.
This could set us up for a period of strong to severe thunderstorms to close out the week before we dry out over the weekend, so please stay tuned for updates as we get closer.
It’s good morning to make soup, or otherwise make the kitchen smell sweet or savory!
HAIKU OF THE DAY:
Rain day, dream away
Or fire up a pot of soup
Either way, relax
Have a great day!
