YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning denizens of the Golden West, as my father used to like to call this place, I hope something wonderful happens for you today. Our negativity biases are built in, potent, and unrelenting, but I still maintain that the brow raise/slight smile combo, when willfully engaged and then focused something you love (be it here now, in your memory, from a dream, whatever) is a nice reset to keep us going down the road of life, as chaotic and tough as it can be.
Works for me anyway. :-)
As for the weather, it’s still weathering the hills and dales of our great region, and will do so long after we’re all done with our pulmonary activities in this life, which is a comforting thought for me: I’m a small cog in a great cosmic system and I get to be *here* for a bit, what a gift.
In terms of today’s weather, it’s pretty chill now, but will get a bit active later.
We have this broad (meaning looooong) and stretched out upper low occupying the southeastern two-thirds of Canada which will continue to send waves of various strengths (mostly weak, except for tomorrow) that keep the chance for unsettled weather at times through at least Tuesday.
What this means in practicality is the chance for a few afternoon isolated to widely scattered showers or a brief pulse of a thunderstorm today, Monday and Tuesday.
For today, highs will reach the upper 60s to mid 70s under partly sunny skies earlier, with clouds building that will drop a few scattered showers later on as a weak disturbance passes north of us.
Westerly winds will also gust 20-30mph at times by this afternoon, and humidity will more pleasant today with dewpoints in the 50s.
Partly to mostly cloudy skies early tonight with lows in the low to mid 50s, will give way to overcast skies as showers move into the Rt. 2 corridor of northern MA from west to east after midnight.
Sunday morning looks soggy for northern MA into SVT and SWNH, and we’ll get our fair share of showers south of Rt. 2 in WMass, CMass and northern CT as well, but less so compared to the north.
Fortunately, that system will sweep out of here by mid day or so, and we should see some partial sun in the back half of the day, with highs in the low 70s. Lows will drop into the 50s with partly cloudy skies.
Monday and Tuesday looks sort of like today: a pair of mixed sky days with a chance for scattered afternoon showers or a t-storm each day, with highs in the low to mid 70s Monday and the mid to upper 70s on Tuesday.
What looked like the potential for a wet mid-week, now looks like our upper will be kicking east of the region FINALLY, and allowing for warmer more summery conditions to develop.
This would include more sunshine and warmer temps coming up into the 80s, and a chance to hit 90º by Friday.
This (unfortunately for me) will come with increased humidity as well, and as such, you will find me in the basement with 10 fans on me crying profusely, while running my tears through a mini-desalinization plant so we can water the flowers with the output.
What can I say, I’m a resourceful guy.
DAILY HAIKU:
Moisture streams, forms, dries
Coalesces, dissipates
So does life, be still
Have a great day!
>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
