>>> DAVE’S WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL <<<
--The main story today is poor quality air
--Air Quality Alerts are up region-wide
--Folks with respiratory problems need to limit outdoor time, and keep windows/doors closed
--Hazy skies, smell of wildfire smoke, and afternoon scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected
--Some storms may have small hail or gusty winds
--It will be seasonably warm in the 60s to mid 70s with lows in the 40s to low 50s
--Showers abate tonight
--Our upper low is retrograding and spinning waves of energy west southwest south and southeast through our regiion, which will draw wildfire smoke through today, and hopefully suppress it south by later tomorrow
--Wednesday through Friday look a bit cooler with partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies
--Highs will generally sit in the 65-70º range with lows in the mid to upper 40s at night
--Scattered showers are possible each day, with more thunderstorms likely by Friday
--A stronger Pacific jet finally kicks this meteorological morass out to sea to the east by the weekend
--This means more sunshine and warmer temps, though some scattered showers are still possible
--By next week another upper low may drop in for an unwelcome visit with more showers and cooler temps, but for now let's check a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with their newest location in the Stop & Shop Plaza on King Street in Northampton, MA.

Expect heavily filtered sun at times, and in some cases partly to mostly cloudy skies with showers and thunderstorms moving in later today. Not everyone gets wet, they will be quite scattered, but some folks could see hail or gusty winds this afternoon into the early evening. The rest of the week will be cooler and feature a chance for afternoon showers each day. Hopefully this smoke gets suppressed south by tomorrow, but it may still impact areas south of the Pike mostly. I hope you have a great day and that things go your way! >>> BE KIND <<< “Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you've got to be kind.” --Kurt Vonnegut
