[SUNBUNDANCE] A SWEET SUNDAY IS FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER SUNNY DAY TOMORROW, TOO… THEN SHOWERS BY TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY, AND EVEN HEAVIER RAINS THURSDAY BEFORE WE DRY OUT FRIDAY AND SATURDAY… COASTAL STORM MAY BRING RAIN BACK TO THE REGION FOR SUNDAY… 7:15am Sunday…
Good morning everybody, I hope you had a lovely day yesterday. It was one of the finest late afternoons / early evenings I’ve experienced in recent memory.
We went fairly late to the NEPM Asparagus Festival in Hadley which was a sweet time, and nice to be among human beings again in a festival setting. If you haven’t seen Session Americana, check ’em out, great band and songs!
As for our weather, more late-Spring meteorological divinity will bestow warm blessings across our hills and dales today.
Starting off, we saw 39º readings in Alford, MA (southern Berkshires) and Bennington, VT!! It was mostly in the 40s and low 50s elsewhere, but those temps are notable for June 5th!
For today, high pressure builds into the region, and we’ll see highs in the low to upper 70s from high terrain to valley floors under mostly sunny skies with a light northwest wind. Lows will dip into the mid to upper 40s for one more chilly night with radiational cooling taking hold given super dry air, light wind and clear skies.
For Monday, one more sweet day as high pressure starts tracking southeast and into the ocean. Highs will warm up as southerly flow begins, pushing into the 75-80º range under mostly sunny skies with lows in the mid 50s under partly cloudy skies.
Tuesday through Wednesday represents a shift into wet and inclement weather conditions, although we may get through much of Tuesday with dry but increasingly cloudy skies late in the day.
This is due to a warm front/cold front combo will be working into the region, as low pressure tracks to our north in northern New England into mid-week.
So Tuesday looks like a decent day as of now, with mostly sunny skies early, southerly gusts to 25mph kicking up ahead of the warm front, and clouds increasing later in the afternoon with showers by night time.
Highs will reach the 70s, and lows will dip into the upper 50s with showers, and we can’t rule out a thunderstorm.
For Wednesday, we’re starting off showery, and likely will see scattered showers at times during the day with highs in the low to mid 70s and lows in the 50s. A final push of showers and maybe a couple of thunderstorms comes through with a cold front at night.
Behind that, another storm develops south of us near the Mid-Atlantic and should spread a stronger rain shield into the region for Thursday, which looks quite rainy at the moment. Again, highs reach the 70s and lows dip into the 50s.
We’ll clear out late Thursday night, and get a couple of fair weather days for Friday and Saturday with highs in the mid to upper 70s, though a few showers are possible on Saturday.
Then we turn to Sunday to see if a coastal storm stays south of us, or brings rain to at least parts of our region.
I will keep you updated as we work through the week.
For now, enjoy the end to this literally stellar weekend!!!
