7:40AM REPORT: A THANK-YOU TO SARAH ETELMAN… MOSTLY DRY TODAY, ISOLATED SHOWERS BY SUNDAY AFTERNOON, THEN SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING BEFORE SUNNY AND PLEASANT WEATHER MOVES BACK FOR TUES-THURS… THEN MORE HUMID, SHOWERS FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY…
Good morning everybody, I want to start by saying that while I didn’t know Sarah Etelman well, I knew her to be a very hardworking, sweet, and kind person, who was a great early supporter and fan of my work here on my weather page.
Not only did we grow up in the same town in EMass and share the same birthday, but we also shared a deep love of snow and winter.
Sarah passed away a week ago from cancer, and I just wanted to acknowledge her life, and thank her the support of my work here.
She will be missed by a great many people. RIP, Sarah <3 As for our weather, today will look a bit more foreboding at times than it actually will be. There's just not enough moisture present in the lower and mid levels with our incoming wave to do more than produce periods of cloudiness, with some sunny breaks mixed in at times, too. Highs will be pleasantly warm, reaching the mid to upper 70s with a spot sprinkle possible. Lows will dip into the low 50s. For Sunday, we're get another wave moving toward the region, and this one will have more juice with it, and will help induce a more southerly flow, which will increase moisture at all levels, and raise our humidity levels, too. We'll reach the mid 70s for highs (with 50s for lows), and overcast skies will develop with isolated showers by afternoon. At night, we'll see more numerous showers develop, along with some thunderstorms, a few of which may drop some small hail. This will all be thanks to a warm front pushing in and increasing humidity Sunday night, with a trailing cold front moving through sometime Monday afternoon. Given this, scattered showers and possible thunderstorms will continue Monday morning, and quit by early afternoon, with highs reaching the mid 70s to low 80s. Monday night will begin to dry out with mostly clear skies developing and lows in the mid 50s. Thanks to incoming high pressure, the Tuesday through Wednesday stretch looks lovely with drier conditions, mostly sunny skies, and highs in the mid 70s to low 80s and lows in the 50s to near 60º. But once that high gets east of us, southerly flow will develop again and temps will actually come up a bit late week, getting well into the 80s, possibly, along with increasing humidity and scattered showers and thunderstorms by Thursday night into Friday. This will be in advance of an incoming cold front that should push through over next weekend and tamp our temps and humidity back down. I hope you have a great day!
