For today, an upper level ridge provides the means necessary to produce abundant sunshine, light wind and highs well into the 80s and low 90s, with those hottest temps in the Pioneer Valley of WMass, with low humidity. Tonight will be clear but mild with lows well into the 50s and low/mid 60s which should provide nice viewing for the fattening gibbous moon which will rise about 3 hours before sunset. For Friday, we'll start off mostly sunny through the morning, and temps will climb above 90º for many of us by early afternoon, with highs in the upper 80s to mid 90s. However, a strong cold front will be descending down from Quebec attached to a storm system up that way. This front means business in several ways, the first of which being that it will start to pop isolated to scattered showers, downpours and thunderstorms by early to mid afternoon. Humidity will also be peaking across the region, with dewpoints rising into the low to mid 60s, and since we haven't had much humidity so far, we'll feel it, I'm sure. As we get into the late afternoon and early evening, showers and thunderstorms likely become more numerous as they track north to south, and some of us will get a solid drink, with some areas well over an inch of rain by Saturday morning. Lows Friday night will be in the 50s. The next thing we'll notice as that temps won't rise much at all on Saturday, and they may even fall a bit! Highs will only reach the 50s to near 60º as showers taper off Saturday morning, with hopefully a lull in the action during the afternoon and night. However, as the cold front stalls south of us late Saturday into Sunday, another storm system will likely develop along it and bob north, bringing even more cool rainfall on Sunday, which may last into early next week, with continued very cool temps for this time of year. This incoming rainfall is certainly needed after the dry spell we just went through, but the cooler temps will be considered as "rude" by many, I imagine! Tuesday through Thursday of next week looks a bit milder, but it will still be below average in terms of temps, with highs only in the mid 60s to low 70s under partly sunny skies with instability showers scattered about each afternoon. I hope you have a great day and that things go your way! >>> BE KIND <<< “Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you've got to be kind.” --Kurt Vonnegut
