WEATHER REPORT
Good morning everybody, I hope you slept well and hope this day goes swimmingly for you!
As for our weather, we’re starting off much cooler with less humidity under mostly cloudy conditions.
We also have a few showers in southern VT and southwest NH tracking southeast into northern MA, but weakening as they do. A few thunder rumbles are possible north of the MA border.
Temps are in the 50s to low 60s with good visibility and light wind.
For today, we’ll see our highs only rise modestly, reaching the upper 50s from the southern Green Mountains to the upper 60s in the southern valley down into northern CT, with most of us in the 60s.
Clouds will persist today as we remain east of the front that passed west through our region yesterday and continue to reside in a marine air mass.
In addition, a large thunderstorm complex that formed over southern Canada last night is now tracking southeast into northern NY toward New England as it rides along the northeast flank of an upper level ridge that’s still bringing the heat and humidity well west of us.
Clouds will be in our immediate Wednesday future, to be sure.
By afternoon, more of the aforementioned showers and possible thunderstorms will be tracking southeast into the greater WMass region, and we will likely see 1 or 2 more waves of showers, downpours and thunderstorms later on in the afternoon, this evening, and overnight, so inclement our first day of June shall be.
We’ll see varying amounts of rainfall depending on where you live (a quarter inch up to as much as an inch by Thursday morning), though rains will be much more widespread than yesterday evening’s little 4-hour bout of showers and storms which were more localized.
Lows tonight will be in the mid to upper 50s, and showers will abate by dawn on Thursday morning.
For Thursday, a bit of high pressure brings a brief respite, causing highs to rise into the mid to upper 70s (low 70s in southern VT) under mostly cloudy skies with a few sunny breaks possible. Lows will again fall into the mid to upper 50s.
Showers may redevelop in northern CT by mid to late afternoon, then the rest of us should see showers and a few thunderstorms arrive Thursday night and last into Friday, abating by Friday night, depending on how a frontal boundary interacts with our region.
Highs Friday will rise to either side of 70º with lows near 50º as we dry and clear out late.
For the weekend?
Absolute early June perfection!
Expect mostly sunny skies, dry air, westerly breezes, lower humidity, and highs in the low to mid 70s both days, with lows in the mid to upper 40s Saturday night and low 50s Sunday night.
For this writer, it just doesn’t get any better than that for the first weekend of Meteorological Summer!
In fact, why not extend that anticipated meteorological marvelousness into Monday? Don’t mind if I do!
Highs again in the mid 70s under mostly sunny skies, and lows in the 50s as clouds increase.
By Tuesday, we will be dealing with a cold front tracking in from the west, which is SUPERB timing, since a developing tropical system to our south along the east coast will be lurking and looking to lambaste someone along the seaboard.
As long as this timing holds, this cold front will kick said storm out to sea to bother the fish and leave us alone.
Temps overall look to remain in the 70s for highs and 50s for lows regime as far as the eye can see for now.
The mid-week period looks fair, with more rain possible by Friday.
Have a great day!
