As for today, I think the morning is going to be calmer with partly sunny skies, but more showers and thunderstorms will erupt later as we have a boundary laying about with all of this moisture and eventual surface heating to use to produce rising air and more wet weather in spots, which should last into tonight. Saturday looks drier, though some scattered showers and maybe a thunder rumble will be around, and into the night with highs well into the 80s as our humid air mass continues to lollygag around. Sunday is the day of the 5-7 days that I am concerned about, as a deep push of moisture is going to ride up the eastern seaboard and into New England. This should combine with a strong upper jet stream that will be vacuuming air away from up high, which will further combine with a mid level shortwave, both fo which will cause very moist air to rise vigorously. This looks like a recipe for more numerous showers, downpours and thunderstorms, with very heavy rain possible, and a likely more flash flooding Sunday and Sunday night. By early to mid next week, Monday and Wednesday are looking drier and nicer at the moment, with Tuesday potentially bringing another wave of scattered showers and thunderstorms, but even that day doesn't look like a washout. We've got to get through today, and especially Sunday before we have a hope of allowing fallen water to sink deeper into the surface, and for the rivers to drain properly and fully before we can really start to decrease the flood risk, which I hope happens with haste.
