YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION

Good morning folks, while it is quite cold this morning with temps in the single digits and teens, it is thankfully not brutally cold like the past two mornings. We have an overnight cloud deck to thank for that, which kept “heat” from radiating out into Space, resulting in comparatively milder temps than they otherwise would have been.

Our morning clouds will clear out with time and we’ll end up with a partly to mostly sunny day with highs climbing into the upper teens to mid 20s with some breezy conditions at times, followed by lows in the single digits to 10º under mostly clear skies.

For Friday and Saturday, similar conditions with high pressure dominating will again cause temps to rise into the upper teens to upper 20s under mostly sunny skies with lows in the single digits. Skies will be clear Friday night, and we’ll cloud up Saturday night.

By sometime on Sunday, a weak system and warm front will push toward the region which could create some snow showers or a period of light snow with very light accumulations in the high terrain, so that’s something I will be watching. Highs will become milder, reaching the mid 20s to mid 30s with lows in the teens.

Monday and Tuesday look similar to Sunday re: temps with highs in the 20s and 30s, and we should see a good bit of sunshine, but southwest winds will be picking up as a cold front and potential Clipper low waits in the wings to move through buy Wednesday.

A period of light snow is possible for late Tuesday night into Wednesday, and colder temps would likely push in with this system if it comes to pass.

Then by late week, another weak Clipper low is possible with more light snow, but I continue to see no big storms in sight, as we just don’t have the right set up for cold AND coastal snowstorms, for the most part, but I’ll keep watching and reporting!

Have a great day!
