***DHTWN DAILY WEATHER REPORT***
——————————————-
Good morning everybody, we have a major ocean storm that has developed along a stationary front, the slowing and stalling of which allowed for the production of our snow showers and freezing drizzle/rain yesterday.

The column has dried out over our heads more today and many of us we’ll enjoy the development of partly to mostly sunny skies the further west across the region you travel.

However, in northeast CT and CMass there will be come more clouds at times, especially later in the day and tonight.

In addition, the influence of higher pressures from the west combined with lower pressures to the east will produce northerly gusts of 20-30mph at times today (and already has this morning).

Highs will reach the low to mid 30s with lows in the mid to upper teens, with snow showers possible by dawn across southeastern Worcester County into northeast CT and points south and east.

For Monday, WMass enjoys a mostly sunny day, although eastern border areas with Worcester County and points south and east should see more clouds than sun with a period of snow possible there that could provide fresh coatings from Worcester MA to Willimantic CT.

Highs will be well into the 30s with lows either side of 20º.

We turn milder Tuesday with highs above 40º and clouds will be increasing as a storm passes to our north and brings a weak frontal boundary in with a few rain showers in the afternoon and evening, with lows near freezing.

Wednesday into Thursday morning provides a break in activity with highs in the low 40s and lows near 30º before a stronger storm system pushes northeast towards New England.

At this stage, the timing of this late-week system would generally mean we could expect some accumulating snow in the high terrain areas (especially above 1000 feet, with heavier amounts i those areas west of the CT River) with a change to rain by Friday morning.

However, a secondary low may develop near southeast NY as the primary low tracks through the eastern Great Lakes so we’ll have to see how much night time cold air can be held in place to either prolong snow in some areas or relent and lead to a faster change to rain.

The weekend afterwards looks colder and fair, with the potential for a wintry system early the following week, so stay tuned for updates as things may be better a bit more active.

Have a great day!

AND REMEMBER…
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
