Western Mass Regional Weather for January 14, 2023

WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL
We have some snow showers early today with mostly cloudy skies and a few more snow showers possible this evening, cold, with sunshine developing for Sunday into Tuesday except for CMass (more below), then some Tuesday night showers and a snow to rain storm by late week continues to look likely, but before we dive into all of the weather details below, let’s check a note from our new local weekend sponsor, #CranberryHillHealingArts located in Amherst, MA.

***DHTWN DAILY WEATHER REPORT***
——————————————-
Good morning everybody, in New England all you have to do is wait a minute and the weather will change, and change it did over night, mainly after midnight, with areas of light icing in central MA that formed with some snow, and now we have a stubborn area of mid-level air convergence over the Berkshires region which is producing snow this morning and this will continue for a little while longer before dissipating.

Are you seeing snow? I have had reports of dustings in Litchfield and Berkshire Counties this morning, let me know what you are seeing.

Today will be mostly cloudy and cold with highs in the upper 20s to mid 30s with morning snow showers west of the I-91 corridor in the high terrain, so some slick spots are possible.

As this area slowly pulls east, we may see other scattered snow showers at times later this afternoon and evening as well, though none of it should amount to much more than dustings to half an inch.

For tonight, mostly cloudy skies continue but we should be breaking the cloud deck late at night with lows in the upper teens to mid 20s.

Sunday and Monday look lovely for most of us with plenty of sunshine, except perhaps easternmost CT and southeastern Worcester County where there will be some clouds around, and some light snow possible Monday morning from an ocean storm that largely leaves us alone in much of the WMass region.

Expect mostly sunny skies with highs in the 30s and lows in the upper teens and 20s.

Tuesday into Thursday looks mild with highs in the low to mid 40s as a warm front floats through the region and brings a few scattered showers Tuesday night into Wednesday.

By late next week, we have another larger storm to deal with, which may arrive in the form of snow and rain depending on storm track and timing of arrival, so I will keep you updated on that.

Please let me know if you are seeing snow this morning, thanks and have a great day!

AND REMEMBER…
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
