MORNING DISCUSSION
Good morning everybody, we’ve got low pressure tracking through PA and NY and into northern New England this morning, which is about ready to lift a warm front *briefly* through our region from south to north.
Temps have been stubborn to rise much at all overnight, as cold air hard to scour out of the CT River Valley after it’s been established for a bit of time.
We’ve got patchy fog in spots as well, so give it some extra time this morning getting from A to B if you haven’t left yet.
Additional rain showers will tracking northeast through the region, and anywhere that temps come up into the upper 40s to mid 50s (they’re already there in northern CT and spilling across the MA/CT border), southerly winds could gust up to 35mph through the late morning period.
Otherwise, winds will be lighter where it’s cooler and the inversion holds on for longer.
Temps rise this morning, rain quits by noon or so, and then temps will fall behind a cold frontal passage, along with a wind shift out of the west and northwest, with breezy conditions this afternoon and evening.
We’ll dry through the afternoon and night, and lows will drop into the upper teens to upper 20s from north to south.
High pressure builds in for the weekend, along with seasonably chilly air with highs in the upper 20s to mid 30s Saturday, and the mid to upper 30s Sunday with more sun on Sunday than Saturday. Lows drop to the upper teens to low 20s both nights.
We have to watch a coastal storm Sunday which may back into southeast MA and bring some snow showers to northeast CT or southern CMass.
We’re milder by M.L.K. Monday with highs under sunny skies in the mid 30s to low 40s, and lows in the 20s.
Tuesday looks to start off on the sunny side, but then an approaching warm front will cloud up the afternoon with some showers in the evening.
Wednesday looks fair enough and mild with clouds around, and then we’ll look to another storm system for late week which may bring mostly rain, but could start as snow for high elevation areas late Thursday night into early Friday morning before changing over.
We’re still seeing signs for a potential colder end to late January, but for now we’re in this seasonable to mild pattern that fluctuates back and forth every time a storm passes to our northwest.
Have a great day!

AND REMEMBER…
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
