YOUR WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
–Northerly flow develops today with low pressure well east and high pressure to our northwest
–Some remnant mid level moisture remains
–Some will see more sun than others today, but it should be a partly sunny day on average
–Morning clouds over the Berkshires, SVT and western hills should mix out toward mid day, but then cumulus clouds will bubble up with steep lapse rates, so that area gets a mix of sun and clouds today
–But from the CT River Valley eastward, and much of northern CT should see more sunshine than clouds today
–Highs reach the low to mid 30s with breezy northerly winds gusting up to 20mph or so today
–Much colder tonight with clearing skies and lows in the mid teens to low 20s
–Then from Sunday to Thursday, a stretch of mostly sunny skies develop due to high pressure slowly tracking southeast from Ontario/Quebec through New England
–Highs crest the mid to upper 30s Sunday through Tuesday with lows in the upper teens to low 20s
–A few clouds are possible later Tuesday as a weak warm front ripples through
–Then Wednesday through Friday features highs in the upper 30s to mid 40s with lows well into the 20s with fair weather continuing
–By Friday some clouds develop as a frontal boundary approaches the region with a storm passing to our north
–This will bring some showers to our region by Friday night into Saturday
YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, we’ve entered a new pattern for now with dry conditions for the most part, as moisture is being scoured out and advected seaward.
The moisture is not totally gone today, but it will be a significantly brighter day with partly to mostly sunny skies. The most cloudiness from remnant moisture this morning, and bubbling cumulus clouds this afternoon will remain over the Berkshires, western hilltowns and SVT.
Regardless, it will be a very nice day today, and starting tomorrow, sunshine will really proliferate the region’s skies as high pressure moves closer and dries up remaining moisture.
In fact, for now (and despite a later Tuesday / Tuesday night bout with a few clouds), the Sunday through Thursday stretch looks gloriously sunny at the moment, so hopefully that forecast holds.
Friday becomes cloudier, and by Saturday some showers may develop across the region with a frontal passage.
Aside from that, it’s looking quite quiet, and because of that, I am going to take some time off from reporting, as my eyes need a break, and my body needs sleep after a busy January.
I will be back by Monday or Tuesday morning latest, but tomorrow is a day of rest for this writer.
Have a great weekend!

“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
