–In addition, rain will change to a brief period of snow with fresh coatings up to an inch possible
–Temps then drop 20+ degrees in 1-2 hours, so isolated flash freezes are possible, but should be the exception. Lows drop to the 20s
–Thursday looks blustery, fair and cold with highs in the 20s to low 30s and westerly winds gusting 30-45mph, at least it will be sunny! Lows drop to the upper teens to 20s
–Friday rebounds right back up into the 40s as high pressure passes south of us again and puts us back into southwest flow
–The weekend is now looking MURKY
–I think Saturday could be the epick of the weekend, with a better chance for showers from a slow moving coastal system arriving Sunday through Tuesday, but Saturday could see a shower too, so stay tuned
–Either way, highs will get back up into the 50s

YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, we’ve got big weather changes coming as the seesaw goes up, comes down and goes up again, wheeeee!!!
Sorry, I’m a weather nut, after all, but I get that many others do not appreciate, enjoy or want to deal with such atmospheric gyrations, but it’s coming, and I’m charged by you all to report it as I see it, and I think we’ll see some stuff, especially over the next 48-60 hours.
We start with a lovely day developing as departing high pressure kisses us goodbye with highs in the 55-60º range under mostly sunny skies before our mid-week tempest sweeps the region.
Southeast to southerly breezes could gust over 20mph, and clouds will increase late as a warm front approaches.
We cloud up quickly this early evening, and rain, possibly heavy at times, moves in between 8pm-Midnight with additional scattered showers overnight and lows in the mid to upper 40s.
Another mid-level wave moves through early Wednesday morning with another pulse of heavier/steadier rain expected, leading to more scattered showers through the day with highs in the mid to upper 50s.
By dinner time, our cold front will be approaching and moving into the Hudson River Valley of eastern NY and then heading towards the Berkshires, western CT and southwest VT.
This will help focus the southerly wind, and also pull it down to the surface as a squall line brings heavier rain between the 5-9pm timeframe, along with a thunderstorm possible.
Southerly gusts ahead of the front up to 40mph or so are possible, and then the front sweeps through 8-11pm roughly, from west to east, maybe a touch earlier.
Rain will quickly change to snow as temps drops over 20 degrees in just an hour or two, and fresh coatings to an inch are possible.
In addition, westerly winds will rip in behind the frontal passage, and gust 40-60mph possibly, which would cause isolated to scattered outages depending on if that wind can really maximize.
Isolated protected high terrain areas may see a bit of a flash freeze of slushy coatings, so some slippery areas could develop as lows drop to the 20s.
Thursday looks sunny, but blustery and cold with highs in the 20s to low 30s, westerly winds gusting to 45mph, and wind chills in the teens, so bundle up! Lows will be in the teens to mid 20s!
Friday looks much nicer, milder, calmer, highs mid 40s or so under sunny skies, a lovely end to the week!
Thene the weekend looks murky and uncertain with some showery periods possible, especially Sunday into early next week, so for now I am going to punt and pick that back up more fully on Thursday morning, with brief mentions through tonight and tomorrow, as I need to stay focused on tomorrow’s dynamic weather shifts.
Have a great day, and if you depend on this community weather resource, please contribute to my 10th Annual Support Drive at the secure link below… it’s you that keeps these reports churning! (options include Cards, PayPal, Venmo, or Check, thank you!)
>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
