YOUR WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
–A mix of sun and clouds starts off the day, but we’ll be trending towards more clouds by afternoon as a warm front approaches
–Highs will be fairly average, in the upper 30s to low/mid 40s
–Light south wind, clouds thicken later, and mixed precip arrives mostly after dinner and before midnight
–Frozen precip is expected with some dynamic cooling in the hilltowns, northern Berkshires, and SVT/SWNH after an initial set of light rain showers
–Precip is expected to be fairly light to moderate, and best chance for light wet snow accumulations and/or light ice glaze overnight in SVT, SWNH and northern MA at elevation
–Any mixed rain/snow/sleet in the Pioneer Valley, lower terrain of CMass and northern CT should go to all rain by or after midnight
–A coating up to 2″ is possible in the northern Berkshires, southern VT, northwest hilltowns, and northern and eastern SWNH
–Everybody goes to rain by mid to late Friday morning, and the valley points south and east expected to be mostly rain
–Lows in the low to mid 30s tonight, highs tomorrow low to mid 40s with rain tapering by afternoon
–A cold front passes, and northwest winds gust bringing cold air back into the region, with Friday night lows in the low to mid 20s
–Cold and sunny Saturday, highs mid to upper 20s, NW winds gust 20-30mph, lows in the teens
–Breezy Sunday, sunny, highs mid to upper 30s, with lows in the 20s as wind backs to the southwest
–Monday and Tuesday feature high pressure and mild fair weather with highs mid to upper 40s Monday, and upper 40s to low 50s Tuesday
–Clouds do build Tuesday afternoon and warm frontal showers arrive at night, bringing very mild temps Wed/Thurs well into the 50s for highs, and possibly 60º by Thursday!
–However, a potent and sharp cold front looks to bring strong wind, heavier rain, and a possible back-side flip to snow Thursday night, so stay tuned for updates
YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, we’ve got a bit of weather coming through the region tonight into Friday as described in the Nutshell above.
It’s a light affair, but could cause some slick spots in the high terrain in northern WMass and northern CMass up into SVT and SWNH with up to a coating to 2″ of wet slop, and some light ice glaze possible from light freezing rain, especially on bridges and overpasses up that way.
Otherwise we’ll see mostly mixed precip changing to rain in the southern Berkshires east into the Pioneer Valley, southern CMass and northern CT.
A mix of clouds and sun today goes more quickly to overcast skies by mid-day into the afternoon, with light precip arriving tonight before midnight.
Southern VT is the area most likely to see dynamic cooling allowing for any mix to change to a period of wet snow overnight.
Otherwise, rain and mix falls overnight, and then changes to all rain by mid-morning on Friday tapering off by early afternoon as the weak storm pulls away to the east.
After we dry out into Friday night, a cold front comes through, and drops temps down to the teens and 20s as cold northwest wind gusts of 20-30mph kick up and last through Saturday, which will be cold and mostly in the 20s for highs and teens for lows.
Sunny skies continue into Sunday, and it’ll be more temperate with highs in the mid to upper 30s as wind backs to the southwest and pumps temps into the 45-50º range early next week.
A warm front will then push into the region Tuesday night with showers, to be followed by MUCH milder air Wednesday and Thursday as we soar into the 55-60º range prior to a sharp cold front bringing rain, wind and possibly some snow Thursday afternoon and night, so stay tuned for updates.

>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
