YOUR WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
–High pressure builds inito the region with light south to southeast wind
–Mostly sunny skies today, partly cloudy tonight (especially well east of the I-91) and mostly sunny tomorrow with clouds building in late and through the evening
–Highs today range from 35-40º region-wide, with lows in the low to mid 20s with light wind
–For Thursday, we get one more sunny day before inclement weather moves through Thursday night and Friday
–Mostly sunny skies arrive with highs in the low to mid 40s
–A warm frontal boundary approaches Thursday night as temps dip to the low to mid 30s
–This will allow a mix of snow, sleet and/or rain to develop in the valley points south and east, with wet snow in parts of the Berkshires, western hilltowns, Litchfield hills, Taconics, and SVT into SWNH
–Some light wet snow accumulations are expected (a coating to a slushy inch or so) and then we all mix with and turn to rain Friday by mid to late morning as precip picks up
–SVT into the northeast Berkshires may stay snow for longer, or a mix into Friday morning
–Rain showers quit Friday with highs in the low to mid 40s, then a cold front swings through
–Lows plummet to the mid to upper teens with northwest winds picking up
–Saturday looks sunny, blustery and cold with highs in the mid to upper 20s and northwest gusts of 20-30mph, resulting in wind chills in the teens, with lows in the teens
–Winds slacken Sunday, but still a bit breezy with highs in the mid to upper 30s and lows in the 20s as wind backs around to the southwest
–The Mildening then commences next week as an upper ridge and associated surface high pressure build in the eastern U.S., and pump mild air into the region
–Highs will climb into the 45-50º range early next week with highs well into the 50s by mid week with warm frontal showers by Tuesday and Wednesday
–A cold front comes through by Thursday/Friday with rain possibly changing to snow on the back end
YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, we’ve got a pair of lovely days ahead, so rejoice I say! Get out in the woods and soak the negative ions! Raise your ‘brows to the increasing sunlight which really comes on by the last half of February (similar to how the light really wanes in the last half of August).

Temps come up after a cold start in the teens this morning to the 30s later today, and low to mid 40s by tomorrow (after a night in the 20s tonight).

Plenty of sunshine will drench our hills and dales, though some ocean clouds would make parts of CMass more partly sunny later today and into part of tomorrow.

Clouds increase tomorrow night, and a mix of rain, sleet and snow will push into the region as warmer air makes a push towards us for Friday.

A storm will be passing north of us, so we’ll get one of those warm-cold front combo deals, with warm frontal precip bringing some light wet snow accumulations into at least the high terrain of SVT, and possible down into western Franklin, NE Berkshire County, and parts of SWNH into early Friday morning.

The rest of us should see mixed showers turning to rain showers as Friday morning wears on.

Friday looks mild (highs low to mid 40s) but showery, tapering off by afternoon as a cold front swings through.

This will drop temps into the teens at night and northwest winds will gust 20-30mph Saturday under sunny skies with highs in the 20s, so bundle up for a wintry day. Lows again will be in the teens Saturday night.

By Sunday, temps rebound to the 30s under sunny skies and less windy conditions.

Then The Mildening begins!

Highs will move from the 40s early week to the 50s mid week, and we’ll get some inclement weather during that Tuesday-Wednesday timeframe, but I’ll have to refine that as we get closer.

Thursday could peak up near 60º before a cold front comes through, and we cool down toward next weekend.

>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
