YOUR WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
–Morning snow showers in SVT, the Berkshires, and northwest CT will abate with time
–Morning wind gusts hitting speeds of 30-50mph (which has knocked power out to 600 in Hampshire County and 750 in southeast VT) will slacken into the afternoon
–Gusts of 20-30mph are expected this afternoon and through the weekend at times with a few weak waves whipping through the region
–Skies will be partly sunny on average today with highs in the upper 20s to mid 30s with wind chills in the upper teens to 20s at times
–Wind slackens this evening, but stays breezy with lows in the low 20s, and some snow showers possible, mainly south of the Pike
–The weekend looks breezy, with highs similar to Friday (in the upper 20s to mid 30s).
–Both afternoons should produce some additional lake effect snow showers, especially Saturday afternoon behind the storm departing to our south
–Lows will drop to the teens Saturday night and then the low to mid 20s Sunday night
–One more breezy and seasonably cold fair weather day on Monday, and then we enter a milder period with highs well into the 30s by Tuesday
–By Wednesday/Thursday, temps should come up into the upper 30s to mid 40s for highs
–Then we turn to the Friday/Saturday period when the next larger storm system is possible
YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, not much of a discussion today as I need to get some rest as I’m still under the weather, but much of the details over the next week is found in the Nutshell section above.

Morning snow showers abate later this morning, and winds will slacken from peak gusts overnight and this morning, but intermittently remain breezy from tonight through the weekend.

A few showers are possible tomorrow morning, especially south of the Pike (due to a departing storm to our south), and with scattered snow showers possible anywhere in the afternoon due to lake effect.

Milder by the middle of next week with fair weather expected until a late-week storm may cause some weather to kick up.

Thanks for reading, and my simplified 10th annual 2024 Support Drive is live, so please see below for details if you depend on this community weather resource, and thank you!

>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
