MORNING DISCUSSION
Good morning everybody, another bright day as Ringo Starr would say, except our bright day is filtered by grey clouds.

Ah well, there’s a star out there somewhere, and we’ll see it again soon enough!

For today, we’ve got a warm front slowly working towards the region, spreading clouds in, and by mid afternoon, the leading edge of scattered showers will filter in along with southeast wind gusts up to 20mph at times.

Highs will be mild, reaching the upper 40s to mid 50s.

Rain will become steadier and heavier later tonight and fall during the pre-dawn hours through Wednesday morning as a low level jet streak (i.e. faster river of air about a mile up or so) moves through overhead.

Lows tonight will be mild, only dipping into the 40s throughout the region, with patchy fog in spots.

For Wednesday, we’re rainy first half of the day, and then should still see scattered or intermittent showers into the afternoon and evening.

This will be the mildest of the next 3 (and the next 10 days, actually), with temps cresting into the 50s, with some upper 50s possible south of the Pike.

Expect lows Wednesday night to dip down to either side of 40º as showers slowly come to a close.

By Thursday, a cold front will be moving through, but we’ll catch one last bit of mildness with highs near 50º or so under partly to mostly sunny skies before temps drop into the night time. Lows will bottom out in the upper 20s.

Friday looks gorgeous, but cooler, with sunny skies and highs in the low 40s, and lows dropping into the 20s with clouds increasing.

The weekend is still a bit unclear, and will hinge on how strong a high pressure system to our north becomes and its ultimate position in terms of directing the traffic of two low pressure systems that will seek to impinge upon our sensible weather.

One is an Ohio Valley low, the other a coastal low near Nova Scotia, and if anything, some scattered light mixed precip is possible at some point over the weekend, and I will seek to clarify that over the next 24 hours.

Looking beyond into next week, cooler temps and stormy potential lurks into the following weekend, so stay tuned for updates on that period of time.

AND REMEMBER…
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
