YOUR WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
–Dreary showery period of weather through Saturday
–Weather like this makes us contemplate, slow down, reflect
–Patchy fog, thick in some areas this morning, may linger into mid day where folks wake up with it as clouds increase overhead
–Rain showers and drizzle patches are also ongoing in some areas this morning, and will be most seen west of the I-91 and along/north of Rt. 2, but anyone could shower today
–Highs reach the mid to upper 40s, calm wind
–Rain picks up tonight as a cold front approaches, and low pressure tracks northeast off of the DelMarVa Peninsula
–Lows will be near 40º, and may rain heavily at times, especially south of the Pike
–Rain continues through Thursday morning as a progressive low tracks northeast through and away from New England
–Highs on Thursday will again be in the 40s, with scattered showers and unsettled conditions at night with lows near 40º
–Friday and Saturday also look unsettled but colder, with scattered showers through the period, possibly changing to snow in the high terrain Saturday
–Highs will be in the 30s with lows in the 20s
–By New Year’s Eve Sunday, the hope is we clear this entire upper low pressure system responsible for the unsettled Thursday night through Saturday unsettled period OUT of here
–This would keep us cool with highs either side of 40º, but with some partial sunshine developing which should last into New Year’s Day with similar temps
YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, I hope you slept well and are staying healthy. There are a lot of health maladies swirling around the region right now, and if I’m being honest, this weather is exactly how I’ve been feeling recently: foggy, damp, cloudy, low light.
I try to be positive here and to be upbeat, but I’m human and this holiday season has been a tough one to move through for different reasons, but forward we go, taking the next step, and then the next one, like everybody else has to in this challenging world, and I shall follow suit.
The 1000 foot view of our weather is that we’re in this meteorological malaise through Saturday, as we’re on the stagnant side of a giant upper low in the center of the country that is keeping the cold way north, and piling up moisture in New England, which will stagnate in our region through the first part of the weekend.
The daily details are up in the Nutshell section, but suffice it to say that we will be slowly cooling from today and tomorrow into Friday and Saturday, and the heaviest/steadiest rain period will be tonight into tomorrow morning, with scattered showers and fog at times on either side of that rainiest timeframe.
By Sunday/Monday, we *should* get some air to mix better through here, and clean the clog, and get some sunshine to appear, you know, that yellow-white orb in the sky that makes delicious broccoli grow so I can stir fry the crap out of it with lemon and red pepper flake and gobble it down like there’s not tomorrow? THAT orb?
Here’s hoping we kick off the new year with some brighter days. Until then, hang in there, and I will do the same.
Have a great day…
>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
