WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL
Top of the morning to you and yours! We’ve got our storm wrapping up with final snow showers or light snow this morning, drying by afternoon, blustery conditions developing for Monday with a snow shower and fair weather through mid-week before a major storm has some impact on our region, but before we dive into all of the weather details below, let’s check a note from our new local weekend sponsor, #CranberryHillHealingArts located in Amherst, MA.

***DHTWN DAILY WEATHER REPORT***
——————————————-
Good morning everybody, thanks for all of the reports yesterday. As I had said the previous night there would be surprises with a storm like the one that is departing today, and indeed there were like valley snow all morning, early accumulations east of the CT River, and the persistence of rain in the southern Berkshires and Bennington areas.

Weather, whether outer or inner, will always be a challenge, to be sure.

As for our outer weather, we have some lingering snow showers mostly lifting now into northern MA, CMass, SVT, SNH and ME as the storm deepens and pulls into the Gulf of Maine.

Please let me know what you saw for additional accumulations overnight, if any, and what your storm totals were if you got snow from this system, thank you!

For today, snow showers end and some breaks of sun are possible by afternoon as drying commences with ridging nudging into the region.

Highs will reach the 30s (lower north and west, mid to upper south and east), under skies with more clouds than sun, especially in the morning. In addition, northwest winds will gust up to 20mph or so, so it won’t be warm, put it that way.

For tonight, a westerly breeze should persist in the high terrain, likely lighter in the valleys with lows in the upper teens to low 20s under partly cloudy skies.

For Sunday, we’ll see more of a partly sunny day with highs in the low to mid 30s with westerly breezes again gusting up to 20mph at times.

An upper level system will be tracking east through northern New England and a wave will rotate through at night into very early Monday morning.

Clouds will increase at night with lows in the low to mid 20s, and some Berkshire, SVT or hilltown snow showers will be possible with a few light coatings perhaps with lows in the mid 20s.

After any morning snow showers, Monday into Wednesday will become increasingly fair weather-wise as high pressure builds into the Mid-Atlantic region.

Expect increasing sunshine and highs through the period in the 30s and lows in the upper teens to near 20º.

By Thursday into Friday, a major storm is going to form with heavy snow, heavy rain, and high wind. I don’t see how someone is not going to see a blizzard from this system given how potent it looks.

However, the kernel for that system is waaaaaaay far away and not even on the North American continent yet, so for now, it remains a storm signal to monitor, but likely should impact us to some degree, whether it’s a windswept rain, a messy mix like we just had, or a full on raging snowy nor’easter.

So stay tuned, have a great day, and if you missed the order deadline, I still have 2023 weather calendars at the link below, and since I won’t be doing one next year, get ’em while you can!

AND REMEMBER…
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
