WEATHER REPORT
Good morning everybody, I’m going to list our salient weather details out in double–dashes below:
–We have a negatively tilted upper level trough sweeping east through the Great Lakes and into New England
–With high pressure southeast, we’ve had a southerly flow develop through the region, which has advected very humid air into our region
–Dewpoints are in the upper 60s to low 70s this morning, and temps are in the upper 60s to mid 70s, quite warm
–Any low clouds will burn off into a partly to mostly sunny day with highs mostly in the upper 80s to low 90s
–Given high humidity dewpoints in the upper 60s to low 70s, heat indices will rise into the low to mid 90s, so while no Heat Advisories have been hoisted, those living especially in the CT River Valley from about Northampton south to Hartford will see a heat surge today
–Meanwhile, we’re in a pre-frontal trough, which is a somewhat unstable zone east of the incoming cold front, which will probably form some scattered showers or a t-storm in SVT or the northern Berkshires between 4-8pm
–For most/the rest of us, we will see scattered showers and thunderstorms track through the region after sunset tonight, and a couple of storms may be strong with gusty winds or small hail

–Dewpoints will be high in the upper 60s to low 70s, with similar air temp lows, so expect some patchy fog too, and we can’t even rule out some ponding on road ways in any downpours
–Showers clear the region by early Wednesday morning, and a mostly sunny day will develop
–Highs Wednesday will reach the upper 70s to low 80s, though it will be humid into the afternoon, before much drier air works in by evening and overnight
–Lows will plunge into the mid to upper 50s, and dewpoints down into the 40s and 50s, so get ready to open those windows again!
–Thursday will be autumnal with sunshine and highs in the low to mid 70s and lows in the upper 40s to low 50s, with a repeat for Friday, but you’ll need to add about 5º to those temps
–High pressure dives northwest to southeast through the region, and after northerly component flows dominate the late-week period, southerly flow resumes this weekend and we warm back up
–We’ll see mostly sunny skies this weekend with highs well into the 80s and lows in the 50s to low 60s, with some showers possible by Sunday later afternoon or night with another cold front slicing into the region
–This front will drop temps on Labor Day back into the 70s under partly sunny skies
I hope you have a great day!

“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
