>>> MORNING DISCUSSION <<< Good morning folks, it is/was chilly this morning! Some temps got down into the low 40s in southern VT, with mid 40s to low 50s across much of the rest of the greater WMass region. Any patchy ground fog burns off and reveals a gorgeous, serene, sunny, and dry Wednesday with highs in the 70s, and lows tonight in the low to mid 50s under mostly clear skies. Soak the next 24 hours up if this is your fave type of weather, folks, because we'll enter more of a seesaw pattern over the next week or so with alternating periods of dry and wet weather, though I don't see any real flooding rainfall. Still, given antecedent wet conditions, we have to be mindful of that potential. Thursday looks pretty sweet, too, but as high pressure kicks east off of the coast, southwest flow will develop, and increase humidity a bit, as well as clouds, so it looks like a partly sunny day on average with SW gusts to 20mph or so. Highs will crest into the upper 70s to low 80s, and as clouds thicken at night lows will hang in the low 60s with a few showers late. By Friday morning, we're in a higher humidity air mass, and should see a warm front working through the region with a period of morning showers. Expect a mostly cloudy day, and as a cold front swings into the region by afternoon and evening, the pre-frontal environment will be a breeding ground for showers, downpours and thunderstorms, though severe weather is not expected. Highs will reach the mid to upper 70s, and a broken squall line may work through by late afternoon. Given decent mid-level lapse rates we can't rule out some small hail with any storms. Lows will fall to either side of 60º as showers ship east of the region. The weekend looks killer, plain and simple. Highs should reach the mid to upper 70s into the low 80s, and we should see plenty of sunshine, though a few more clouds are possible for Sunday. Lows will drop to the 50s, and humidity will be lowered over the weekend as well. By Monday, we will be watching a storm system set to track north of us, which should spread more rain showers into the region Monday night into Tuesday, which is a day that looks very muggy at the moment, with dewpoints possibly cresting 70º, so we're done with muggy summer conditions this Summer, but at least we're mixing in some drier air and sunshine at times and not constantly living in a bowl of soup! Enjoy the day! >>> BE KIND <<< “Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you've got to be kind.” --Kurt Vonnegut
