>>> DAVE’S WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL <<<
–Early morning showers should decrease by mid to late morning
–Drizzle is possible thereafter with mostly cloudy dry periods as well, highs in the upper 60s to 70s
–Patchy fog tonight, some showers east of I-91 with a trailing wave, lows in the low to mid 60s
–Wednesday doesn’t looks as nice anymore, with more clouds than sun and some widely scattered showers, with highs in the 70s
–We dry out Wednesday night with lows either side of 60º
–Thursday looks quite nice to start with a partly sunny day on average witih more sun in the morning than afternoon
–Clouds will build as an upper trough swings into the eastern Great Lakes
–This will help drive southerly moist flow back into New England with more showers/storms Thursday night into Friday
–A nice looking weekend awaits with fair weather moving in on drier northwest flow as an air mass change works into the region
–This may last into early next week despite some Monday showers, but before we talk details let’s check a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with their newest location in the Stop & Shop Plaza on King Street in Northampton, MA.

>>> MORNING DISCUSSION <<<
Good morning everybody, we’ve got a wet start out there as low pressure tracks to our south along a warm frontal boundary pinned up against the southern New England coastline.
This low will track east this morning, and take the rainfall with it, but not before wetting the ground a bit more before overnight rains come to rest.
Drizzle will still be possible in spots and a few isolated showers, during what will become a mostly cloudy day with highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s, so it will be on the cooler side for mid-August.
A few more showers will move through tonight, especially east of the I-91 corridor, and then we’ll ship that system out to sea and see lows bottom out into the low to mid 60s.
For Wednesday, some patchy fog will be possible in the pre-dawn to early morning hours, and then we should move into a more-clouds-than-sun day with widely scattered showers as some leftover moisture works on us.
Highs will reach the 70s, and as we dry out more deeply Wednesday night, partly cloudy skies will develop with lows either side of 60º.
Thursday looks like the pick of the next 4 days with mostly sunny skies as high pressure noses in ahead of an incoming upper level trough that will swing into the eastern Great Lakes by Friday.
This means Thursday will be sunny early, with highs in the mid 70s to low 80s, and humidity and clouds will move back in by later afternoon and evening, with a few showers possible.
The Thursday night into Friday period looks showery, and has the potential to produce some torrential rainfall, along with some thunderstorms.
This all lifts out of here by late Friday night, and for now, the weekend is setting up to be gorgeous with seasonable warmth in the mid 70s to mid 80s under mostly sunny skies.
There is a small risk that we get some showers back in here Sunday into Monday, but even the early week period is looking pretty nice at the moment.
Have a great day!
>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
