MORNING DISCUSSION
Good morning folks, well we’ve done it again, we sailed another roughly 12 million miles through the Cosmos over the past 24 hours, which means that it takes about 10 months for our heliosphere to travel the distance between Pluto and The Sun.
#TheMoreYouKnow
As for our weather here over our little point on Earth’s surface, we’ll be under the influence of an upper level low centered over the Great Lakes and spinning slowly east as it sends packets of moisture and energy through New England which won’t really amount to too much in terms of rainfall.
I think the best chances for showery weather will occur Tuesday afternoon, and again Wednesday night late into Thursday.
Otherwise a few showers are expected later today/Monday, especially in northern MA up into SVT / SWNH, with a sunnier period setting up for Wednesday before the Wed. night into Thursday wave.
So, we’ll see some patchy fog or drizzle early today which should abate with mostly cloudy to (at times) partly sunny skies, with a few afternoon showers scattered about (some stay dry).
Highs will reach the upper 40s to 50s. Winds will be light out of the west and northwest, and if we can clear skies out enough tonight, patchy frost is possible, along with patchy fog with lows in the low to mid 30s.
For Tuesday, we should start off dry, but clouds will build and we’ll have a better chance for a lobe of energy to swing through and bring scattered showers to the region. Highs will be firmly in the 50s with lows in the low to midi 30s again.
Wednesday may feature a period of partly to mostly sunny skies with only an isolated shower possible, and highs in the 55-60º range.
A second wave may bring a more pronounced area of showers for late Wednesday night into Thursday, and I will update you on this period as we get closer. Temps will still hang in that 55-60º range.
By late week, high pressure noses into the region with more sunshine for Friday and possibly Saturday, too, but because flow will still be more onshore, highs will hang in the upper 50s to low 60s.
By late weekend into early next week another storm system will be gathering over the Mississippi Valley and tracking east-northeast toward the Mid-Atlantic coastline.
This is our next potential rainy soaker, and if it winds up enough and combines with some cold air aloft, we can’t rule out May Day Snowflakes in SVT and the Berkshires!
It probably won’t come to pass, but until mid May, we’re never completely out of the wintry woods in southern New England, especially in the high terrain!
Have a great day!
BE KIND
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
