Radar showing steady to heavy rain at times Sunday AM.

Good morning folks, moderate to heavy rain has been falling overnight or is falling this morning, or is likely going to later depending on where you live ini the greater WMass region.

In some cases over 2″ of rain has fallen in parts of WMass down into northern CT, and we’ll see more rain with embedded thunderstorms this morning continue tracking north and into the region with patchy drizzle/fog later, and showers and clouds at times through the week with seasonably cool temperatures and more rain possible next Sunday, but before we jump into the weather and daily details below, let’s check a note from our new weekend sponsor, #RedFireFarm located in Granby, MA.

GANDALF THE GRAY TO POTENTIAL DROUGHT:
YOU! SHALL NOT! PASS!
Ok, I have to apologize to the folks who just read that and cocked their heads sideways about 5º like a dog when it’s perceive what you’re saying more clearly.

I’m a Lord of the Rings Movie Nut, and that’s where that’s from! Moving right along!

Rain, heavy at times with some thunder, continues to track north through the region this morning, and this will likely last into at least early afternoon before it starts to break up, lessen and dissipate a bit, with scattered showers possible through tonight.

Highs today reach the upper 40s to low 50s, so they won’t be moving much.

I want soup pics, people!!

It’s a great day to positively enhance those olfactory hues throughout your home.

After the heaviest weather moves through, we run the risk for patchy fog and drizzle to develop behind the heaviest rainfall as it pulls north, east, and away.

Lows tonight will dip into the upper 30s to low 40s with a few scattered showers possible.

During Monday and Tuesday at least, we will be more firmly underneath the influence and expression from an upper level low that will meandering about the eastern Great Lakes region in the northeast U.S. and southeast Canada.

This will have enough moisture with it to send lobes of energy in the form of clouds and scattered showers each day, possibly lasting into the night but they should dissipate as true instability showers forming from daily surface heating with cold air positioned aloft, causing air to rise and shower out.

Highs will be in the upper 40s to mid 50s with lows in the 30s and low 40s, with some isolated frost possible before mid-week.

Wednesday *could* be a transition day to less clouds and more sun with fair weather still hopeful for late week (though you never know with these cut-off, blocked-up systems and patterns).

Temps generally look like they will crest out into the 55-60º range for the period, and we can’t rule out a shower any day of this next week.

And if that wasn’t enough, a bigger storm is possible by next Sunday, and we continue to see flashes of wintry signals for the high terrain of far northwest MA and southern VT so stay tuned for updates as we trudge together into a bit of an unsettled stretch.

Have a great day!

BE KIND
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
