Good morning everybody, this morning’s report is going to be laid out summarily in double-dash format. Tonight’s book will go into para-graphic detail about our potential snowstorm regarding Saturday’s climes during its post meridian times.

With that, be sure to let your people know if this storm potential as we dash into the details below…

SUMMARY
–High pressure will build to our south today and enable us to get in a mostly sunny stretch with highs in the low to upper 40s from high to low terrain
–A light southwest wind can be expected, and lows tonight will drop to near freezing as we cloud up
–On Friday, we will become overcast and some showers are possible in the afternoon, especially toward sunset and the early evening
–This will be thanks to a cutoff low pressure system now over the South which will track east-northeast toward the Mid-Atlantic coastline
–The first thing to remember is that the antecedent air mass is MILD across our region, so it’s hard to get snow into the valley early in the season when that’s the case

SNOW SCENARIO #1
–I think this storm has a greater chance of tracking flatter east-northeast to our south, which could cause ALL of us to end as snow Saturday evening and night, sooner in the Berkshires, SVT/SWNH and hilly areas of WMass and northern Worcester County and later in the valley
–Light to moderate snow accumulations would be possible region-wide in this scenario, with 1-4″ for valley areas, and maybe 3-6″ or 4-8″ in the high terrain, after over an inch of rainfall Friday night into the first part of Saturday

SNOW SCENARIO #2
–However, the potential for the storm to hug the coast and hook more over southeast MA does exist, which would lead to more rain in the valley and possibly HEAVY snow in the Berkshires/Litchfields/Taconics, western hilltowns and SVT where the plows would certainly need to come out
–Some modeling shows over a foot of snow in some of those areas!
–However, I’m not ready to jump on that bandwagon, as we have a chaotic upper air pattern to our west, and we need to get closer to this event to iron out the details

STAY TUNED OVER THE NEXT 48-60 HOURS
–Please stay tuned for updates on this developing potential winter weather situation, as substantial to serious impacts are possible, from plowable snowfall, to power outages due to heavy wet snow, etc.

SUNDAY AND BEYOND
–Sunday looks lake-effect-y with some hilltown/Berkshire snow showers after the departed storm, and cold temps in the 30s for highs
–It looks cold and fair next week, with a low chance for a mid-week system
