We're here now, so hopefully we'll all have good moments in our day as we proceed forward and launch into it - everyday is a rebirth of sorts, a chance to start and try again. As for our weather, we've got improvements in some ways, and setbacks in others - it's mixed, like adult life! The good news is that our humidity will be lowering from today through Saturday, and will be most noticeable Friday with dewpoints sinking below the 60º mark, which will be most welcome for this writer. Other goods news is that we can expect much less shower/storm coverage and activity with only an isolated shower or two possible each day, and we can expect more sunshine as well with partly sunny skies expected today and Saturday and mostly sunny skies tomorrow. However, we do have a plume of smoke to contend with that brought terrible air quality to the Midwest, and this is why Air Quality Alerts are up for this afternoon and evening for WMass, CMass, and southern VT. At first for today and tomorrow, the smoke should be more aloft and it won't be particularly thick, but some haze is expected. By Saturday, that smoke is anticipated to reach the ground, so for now, that's the day I'm most concerned about for folks with respiratory issues. I do not think it will be as bad as it was the last time around that turned NYC and Philly into a Martian hellscape. As for temps, they look very seasonable and pretty steady and consistent through into early next week. Highs will reach the mid 70s to low 80s today with lows in the upper 50s to mid 60s. From tomorrow/Friday through into early next week, highs look to sit in the upper 70s to mid 80s with lows in the low to mid 60s. Patchy fog is possible each morning, and we did note some dense fog in Orange, MA up into southwest NH already this morning, as well as in a few other areas. By Saturday later afternoon and night, clouds will be on the increase, and humidity will start to tick up, too. A few more scattered showers may visit is the second half of Saturday, but hopefully they will hold off until Saturday night or even Sunday at this rate. Our next upper low pushes east into the region by Sunday with higher humidity and scattered showers and a few thunderstorms. By the 4th of July into the following Tuesday, a better chance of showers and thunderstorms will exist, and we can't rule out some strong to severe storms, so holiday plans may be impacted the latter part of the upcoming holiday weekend so keep it tuned here and I will keep you updated!!
