Good morning folks, we’ve got some big weather headlines to discuss as the weak progresses, of that there is no doubt.
But before I get into the weather report (found below), I wanted to let you know that I now have a new, local WMass business sponsor for my work here, which is Tandem Bagel Company.
You’ll see their FB page will be tagged using the provided FB tool, as I’m receiving compensation from them, so I need to disclose that to you.
They’re wicked nice folks, beloved by many, and you can learn more about them immediately below, followed by today’s report!

WEATHER REPORT
Summer is definitely not over, my friends, and we will be feeling it big time this week. I’m going to enter my tried–and–true double–dash mode below to whip through points of saliency that must be presented with a Modicum of Pizzazz, which by the way happens to be the title of my upcoming autobiography, due out in 2041.
As an aside, it’s too bad Scrabble doesn’t give you more Zs, because that would be a killer scrabble word worth a bunch of points on Triple Word Score! Ok, enough…
SUMMAH-RY
–Patchy fog will relent this morning, but clouds may linger until later morning, maybe into early afternoon in a few spots
–Our weak upper low over Cape Cod lifts away to the east, and then we’re off to the races heat-and-humidity-wise
–Dewpoints should be climbing into the upper 60s to low 70s, with muggification on the rise later today
–We can’t rule out a few showers or thunderstorm in the afternoon, and highs will reach the low to upper 80s
–For tonight, low will only be in the mid to upper 60s and a few showers are expected overnight, but will be scattered
–Patchy fog is again possible late, and will again burn off tomorrow morning
–Our heat wave starts tomorrow, and Heat Advisories have been hoisted for the entire region
–The combo of heat (upper 80s to low 90s) and humidity (dewpoints in the low 70s) will cause the Heat Index to rise into the 95-100º range
–While skies will be mostly sunny, we’ll have a chance for afternoon and evening scattered showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain possible
–Wednesday night will be awful for sleeping, with lows in the upper 60s to low 70s, very humid, and a few showers possible

–Thursday is the peak of this heat wave, and a day that if you can stay inside, you want to given air quality potential, high heat, and high humidity, along with severe thunderstorms possible
–Excessive Heat Watches have been hoisted for Thursday for east of the western hilltowns (including central & eastern Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden Counties, all of Worcester County, and north-central and northeast CT)
–Heat Advisories will likely be hoisted for the Berkshires, Litchfields and Taconics on Thursday (though aren’t yet), and possibly for SVT and SWNH, we shall see
–So it will hazy, hot, and humid, with potential for western wildfire smoke to reduce air quality substantially, and highs will reach the low to possibly upper 90s with high dewpoints in the low to mid 70s, creating Heat Indices in the 100-107º range
–In addition, we have the potential for strong low level AND mid level lapse rates, which could produce tall strong to severe thunderstorms capable of locally damaging winds and larger hail, so stay tuned for updates to the late-week forecast
–Thursday night lows will only be in the low to mid 70s, ugh
–Friday will be hot, hazy and humid again with highs in the low to mid 90s and likely the need for at least additional Heat Advisories
–Scattered afternoon showers, downpours and thunderstorms are again expected, and lows will only dip into the upper 60s to low 70s
–Saturday is our transition day out of this heat wave, as a cold front SLOWLY moves into the region, which help drops highs back into the 80s with a still-humid day and showers and thunderstorms expected
–Lows will FINALLY allow comfortable sleeping weather, dropping into the upper 50s to low 60s under partly cloudy skies
–Sunday will definitely be the pick of the weekend, and the Sunday through Tuesday period right now looks GORGEOUS, with lower humidity, sunny skies, and lower highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, so there is light at the end of this hazy, hot and humid tunnel that is set before us
I hope you have a great day, and remember to hydrate and keep as cool as you can as the days progress this week, along with watching out for Thursday and Friday for potential air quality issues. Stay tuned for updates, and do check out my limited edition Decade Anniversary Apparel Sale that features a new shirt design. Thanks!
