Good morning everybody, the humidity has left the building, and Canadian high pressure is firmly in control of our weather for the next several days.
June 20, 2014 Satellite
Dew point temperatures are expected to drop into the 30s today! This is down from the 60s earlier this week when we had thunderstorms roll through our area overnight. Super dry, crisp, clean, and pleasantly warm air will dominate our weather into next week.
Today will be the coolest day during the foreseeable future, with highs in the low to mid 70s, and lows in the 40s again tonight.
Normally, when weather gets this dry and sunny, there is cause for alarm in terms of elevated fire danger, but because there will be so little wind, those advisories are not being hoisted for now. It’s the increased heat and wind, coupled with bone dry air, that causes these warnings to be posted.
June 20, 2014 High Temps
The weekend is looking FABULOUS, with sunny skies and highs increasing into the upper 70s and by Sunday or Monday we should be flirting with the 80 degree mark again. By mid-week we’ll see humidity increase as high pressure breaks down out of Canada, and allows air from the south and west to flood back into our area, with a risk of thunderstorms and highs around 80.
All outdoor plans are a go this weekend for sure! Have a great day.
