Good morning everybody, the theme of the first half of this week is high pressure. It will be building out of south-central Canada and drifting southeast over our area, providing abundant sunshine, but a cold start to the week.

Breezy northwest winds will continue today, gusting to 25mph at times, so the wind chill will be a factor. Bundle up for sure. Highs today will not reach the freezing mark in some places, and after a cold night again tonight with lows in the teens, we will reach the mid to upper 30s tomorrow.
Today is the coldest of the next week, so all you winter weary folks hang in there, as we make improvements each day that passes.

As the high pressure system responsible for our fair weather moves off to our south and east by Wednesday, a return southwest flow will set up and coincide with a warm front approaching our area from the west. This will really allow us to moderate during mid-week, although it will be accompanied by periods of rain.

The first period, with the warm front is Wednesday night into Thursday, and the second period would be Thursday evening into Friday morning, due to the associated cold front. Highs Wednesday well into the 40s, and highs Thursday well into the 50s!!

As it all sweeps off shore Friday, colder air moves back in, but not as cold as today, for example. This cold front is expected to stall somewhere south of us, and coastal low pressure could develop and bring rain or snow to us this weekend, but due to building high pressure to our north and west, it may be keep this low out to sea.
